First half was ordinary umpiring wise but I think they took a look at the stats sheet at half time & thought we need to even this up a bit as it's looking like we are favouring Freo( which they were)Gave us a pretty good run right up till the last few minutes & payed a few cheapies to Freo but we hang on .

Joyce was given plenty of time to try and get rid of it but did nothing.
The Pearce one they called a bounce immediately. Yet he dived on the ball and wasn’t getting it out. I don’t know why they were umpired so differently.

got to agree with BM here. Joyce dragged it in. when ball is on the ground in a pack the umps will always pay that.

To his credit Joyce bounced back from that early blunder and had a solid game.

Agreed. I thought we got a decent run from the umps and when you consider it was playing in the People's Republic of MaoGowan ... it was an amazing run.

Then again - that was a shocking decision on Hayes at the end that gave Collyer a goal. Terrible decision ... flat-out guess.

The bizarre thing is that Acres mightn't have given away a free kick on Max King but, he may end up getting a week or two for it

Interesting that the umpire in the second decision chose to tell the player on the mark to go back 1 metre.
Not so in the first decision?
What is the correct interpretation - 50m penalty or warn the player?
