Re: Zak Jones personal leave
It’s very curious timing and the club is very vague about the whole thing.
I wonder what’s going on

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
Less than ideal but I just hope Zak can overcome whatever the issue is . Mental health is a real problem expectation & stress can do strange things to the human mind . I've been down that road & it's not a pleasant drive that's for sure . As someone has already posted family & friends are the key to getting your head in the right space to deal with what lies ahead .

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
So the assumption is mental health?
It says health and well being. When Paddy went away pre-season 12 months ago there was mention that he was struggling mentally due to the personal circumstances he was going through... it’s not really specifying that. I’d have thought given the attention mental health has gotten as of late with emphasis on reducing stigma, surely they would have just said that. Would have garnered sympathy and reduced cause to speculate.
Given that Jones played a week ago and looked in great shape, my inclination is that this is something else.
The vagueness of the statement makes me uncomfortable

Not always, legend. unfortunately, family in particular are very often part of the problem.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Fri 04 Mar 2022 11:28pm Less than ideal but I just hope Zak can overcome whatever the issue is . Not sure what the issue is but sincerely I hope you get better soon Zak and I'm glad you have the club's support here.

Yeah your probably right I didn't think about it like that . I suppose I was speaking of my own personal experience but I can see your point.freely wrote: ↑Sat 05 Mar 2022 5:34amNot always, legend. unfortunately, family in particular are very often part of the problem.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Fri 04 Mar 2022 11:28pm Less than ideal but I just hope Zak can overcome whatever the issue is . Re: Zak Jones personal leave
Is this another case of "I screwed up and now my family life is f--k ed up".
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

You are not going to lose your job to AI.
You are going lose your job to somebody who uses AI.
Your company is not going to go out of business because of AI.
Your company is going to go out of business because another company used AI.

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
Good point but we'll probably never know the details unless someone spills the beans.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
Zak has been a good pick up and I have no doubt he has much to offer this group, but with a little further reading, I've found he has stated himself, that he isn't good with self confidence and can get down on himself.
It is well documented that he has wanted to be home, around family, since 2017 and took up meditation in 2019 to work on his self awareness and mental focus.
Clearly he has been putting un the work so far this year, he is physically healthy and has family and a supportive club around him.
I wish him all the best and hope he returns happy and ready to fire soon.

That's great considering he's come from a club that’s had more swings & misses than most - can explain ridiculous absences.

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
It could literally be anything, and isnt necessarily a sign that he is struggling with his own mental health issues. There could be a death in the family or an issue within a close relationship or with a child if he has kids? Who knows. Its a good gesture from the club to give him all the time he needs, but if theres anything we know about Zac, its that hes 100% committed to the team so i wouldnt be surprised if after a week or so he says hes back to being available and could be good to go for round 1. See how we go.

Re: Zak Jones personal leave
Whoever told BM, is possibly implying that Jones has 3 strikes for non-performance enhancing drugs and that the club has been informed and has imposed a restriction on him.

Who said this? Fair dinkum.
“He is such an important player for us we don’t want those sort of guys missing through ill-disciplined acts.“
Quote: Dan Hannebury on Zac Jones being suspended for whacking Dan Butler!!!
Sydney 2017!!
Wow…talk about a Pow Wow!
