Umpires showed they keep the agenda gifting the game to GWS.

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
The umpiring was bad across the board, some bizarre decisions.
Though true, had the ball in our forward line with about 20 seconds to go, shouldn’t lose that, they will get better with experience.

Needed to get more numbers behind the ball when we got the OOf kick on the wing with a minute

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
Probably the worst umpiring I have ever seen at any level. Heavily one sided toward giants most of the game. I don’t usually road rumps or claim cheating like some supporters but that was as close to rigged as I can remember. Obvious frees not paid to us, clear non-frees plucked from nowhere for the giants. Horrific. Having said that, we should have won. I have been a fan of AFLW since the start but the lack of depth across the competition is really starting to show. The average skills and football IQ is pretty poor, leading to finishes like that.
We still have too many players who are not natural footballers and it shows.

My son got home from watching the game live. He said we were robbed. He said people all over the crowd were questioning that final 50m penalty. They were unable to work out just what it was for with the naked eye.

Number 8 for St Kilda knocked the ball out of the Giants players hands. 50 metre penalty was justified.Hawkesbury Saint wrote: ↑Wed 23 Feb 2022 9:37pm My son got home from watching the game live. Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
She brushed past her to clear the area and didn't even know she knocked the ball out and the 50m was seemingly paid well after that anywayGershwin wrote: ↑Wed 23 Feb 2022 10:18pmNumber 8 for St Kilda knocked the ball out of the Giants players hands. 50 metre penalty was justified.Hawkesbury Saint wrote: ↑Wed 23 Feb 2022 9:37pm My son got home from watching the game live. If the 50 was against Shierlaw then it looked like Shierlaw was being blocked by the Giants player so she couldn't run down to reinforce the backline ..... blocking off the ball is a free kick against
Absolute amateur umpiring
And then there is the time clock that stopped for 20 secs whilst White was having a set shot
Wouldnt be holding my breath to get an explanation from the AFL
Saints shafted again

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
It was payed off the ball. Number 12 for us sorry I can't remember names easily, was being blocked from running forward and retaliated. Technically, the free should have gone the other way but number 12 and her opponent were at each other all match. I think no 12 may have been targeted as soft, because she was aggressive all day. She needs to have a chat with Robert Harvey.

Baffling. Hard to get good umpires nowadays. See the soccer and F1? Don't start on horse racing.....
Humans are so flawed: in their perceptions, reactions or weakness for inducements. Of course some just cheat.

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
Tarni White is an easy name to remember No.8 and 20 should be 2. If Smith and Patrikios were playing wed be a much better midfield and would have a few wins under the belt.
They were good yesterday and the loss will only bond them further and teach them some valuable lessons.
Id like to have that 40 year old Irish woman. She is switched on and has great touch and skill.
She was the difference.

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
So Shierlaw was being blocked off the ball illegally by a Giants player stopping her from running down back ..... yet the free kick and ..... a 50m penalty was paid the other way

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
Isn't it amazing how St.Kilda can just turn a game that was in the bag into a defeat . I don't believe in a curse theory but the same thing keeps happening to both men's & women's teams on a regular basis . Makes us appear to be mentally weak .How many times have have we been 5 goals up only been over ran & lost .We really need to change the mind set of we can be beaten because we are St.Kilda to we are St.Kilda & we are good enough to beat anyone anywhere . How that happens is all above the shoulders IMO anyway

Re: AFLW Saints v GWS
Dal's only comment was Kate Shierlaw and her Giants opponent were wrestling and they both fell to ground and the Giants got a 50 metre penalty, he didn't want to say anymore.
The commentators said if the Giants player had've missed the goal she may well have got another 50 metre penalty because Saints players ran into the protected zone trying to put her off.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?
