Adams crashes his car.
They say things happen in threes, whats next?
St Kilda are investigating the circumstances of a car accident involving draftee Oscar Adams.Oscar Adams was only drafted three months ago but is already under investigation after the first-year ruckman-key defender pranged his vehicle on Saturday morning.
St Kilda is investigating the circumstances of a car accident involving draftee Oscar Adams.
The first-year ruckman-key defender pranged his vehicle on Saturday morning in western Victoria.
Adams, 18, was not hurt in the incident.
A club spokesperson on Sunday said the Saints were looking into the matter and would consider the next course of action.
“The St Kilda Football Club is aware of a motor vehicle incident that occurred on the morning of Saturday 5 February involving draftee Oscar Adams,” the club told News Corp.
“He is uninjured and with his family at home.
“The club is gathering further information regarding the matter before it determines the appropriate next steps.
“Oscar’s welfare is the primary concern of the club at this point in time.”
Adams, who is from Mount Gambier, was taken pick No. 51 in November’s national draft, and is only three months into his AFL career.
The 198cm big man is an exciting and versatile tall prospect who said he drove for more than four hours to travel from Mount Gambier to Adelaide to play games for Glenelg last year.
The Saints picked the raw big man, hopeful he can develop his body strength over the next few years and play multiple positions.
The Saints were in Ballarat last week for some training ahead of an important season, after missing finals last year.
The club will continue its probe into the car accident to learn more information about the circumstances on Monday.
It continues a disappointing week for the Saints after promising half back Nick Coffield suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Coffield ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament at training and will have a full knee reconstruction.
Meanwhile, the club is taking a cautious approach with veteran midfielder Daniel Hannebery.
Hannebery has been hobbled by soft tissue injuries in his time at the Saints but is optimistic about his prospects in 2022.
Football boss Simon Lethlean said the Saints were taking no risks with the former Swan and were submitting him for regular calf scans.
“Dan’s history suggests this time of year is of particular risk for him,” Lethlean said.
“As such, we are taking a very conservative approach with him, including regular scans of his calves.
“No muscular issues have been identified, however we will continue on a cautious training program as we progress towards matches.”

Re: Adams crashes his car.
Are they hinting that Adams was over the limit when he crashed his car.
Hanging out with the Adams family after the accident whilst things fester at the club.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Adams crashes his car.
Hard to tell…
Feels like all incidents kind of hint at something these days regardless of whether something is there or not.
Bob Saget died recently and they did not nominate a cause right away leaving me to wonder whether there was a depression type aspect to this whole story yet to come out.
Turned out he had a heart complication or something.
Regardless… anything short of ruling out the worst of it feels like it implies more to the story.

Re: Adams crashes his car.
It says Saturday morning, not early hours of Saturday morning - which hopefully implies it was daylight hours, and less likely alcohol related. Although can’t rule out “tired and emotional” ( aka hangover ).
Sounds like the lad is ok, so let’s hope it was just one of those unfortunate things.

Very true. I'm sure there were a few on here who drove their horse and buggy into a few ditches when they were teens!mr six o'clock wrote: ↑Mon 07 Feb 2022 2:18am He's 18

Yes, that is a fair comment Saynta. Let’s not assume that alcohol, drugs or excessive speed were involved.
