Re: The Dan Plan
99% of what comes out officially from clubs is absolute media-managed bull dust. Towing the company line, nothing more nothing less.
If a player steps out and says what they really think it turns into a media feeding frenzy and that player most likely gets black-balled by the club and has to find a new job next season. Aker is a great example someone said earlier.
What else is Wilkie going to say, huh?

All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Did you mean Jason Akermanis?shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Thu 03 Feb 2022 1:18pm I think Saynta was just making a point that we are venting without inside knowledge. When he says he’ll take Callum Wilkie’s opinion over say the greatest St Kilda ruck man impersonator , Shane Grambeau, I think he also knows that what Wilkie says for a piece of media dribble isn’t worth a pinch.
I heard Cameron Green say Justin Langer is a real beaut on SEN this morning. I mean, as if he’s gonna say squat!
Ditto, the players. They are trained and careful. Imagine if Justin Alermanis played for the Saints? Or Jacko(again). They don’t mind squirting a bit of napalm on the camp fire! But the average trooper is all squared up. Matter of fact, the great Shane thinks that it might be written in their contracts these days. ‘No baggin on other players or officials in pressers’

Our first game is 6 weeks from tomorrow. We all hope that Dan will be fit for it. Alas, I suspect that few here "believe" that he will. "Beliefs" are based on irrationally held opinions.

I didn’t realize.
That’s not possible.
It’s bloody freezing over here.
But it’s about March 15-20 so yeah!
Wow.
The club will no doubt contact me soon for advice.
But seriously, I am thinking of becoming a member for the first time since 1979.
An overseas member. I think I get to watch the games on AFL as part of the deal.

Re: The Dan Plan
It could be another stop start situation but the usual odious and unsavoury types on here rooting for him to fail is just beyond the pale.

Re: The Dan Plan
I've actually not read anywhere that people are rooting for him to fail. Plenty questioning the value and the recruitment, many stating it's not Hannebery's fault we recruited him. Simply highlighting cost v return for a known commodity at the time of recruitment.

Re: The Dan Plan
I agree Ghost I wish for nothing more than Dan to get on the park & show us why we placed so much trust & money in a bloke that had been struggling with soft tissue injuries for a prolonged period . Your right It is not Hanners fault but unless he can give us something special in the next 2 years its a massive fail IMO onlyGhost Like wrote: ↑Fri 04 Feb 2022 9:24pmI've actually not read anywhere that people are rooting for him to fail. Re: The Dan Plan
I’m so sick of reading whether he will or won’t play.
It’s like listening to the spin from politicians. Actually…
It sort of reminds me of a knee injury years ago with Sammy Hamill…. ‘2 weeks’!!

Re: The Dan Plan
Don’t think anyone is hoping he will fail. Expectations are justifiably low based on his contributions to date.
