Which is pretty much why I can’t stand them winning anything. Barstow came out during the last test whinging about the Aussie crowd, “crossing the line”. Yeah right Jonny - tell that to the Barmy Army.happy feet wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jan 2022 2:52pmThere is a reason for the pro-England commentary. Early on in the series the pommy public went on the rampage about what they said was the one-sided pro Australian commentary. This was even an opinion piece from some useless pommy git in the UK edition of the Guardian.saynta wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jan 2022 10:46am I don't watch the 7 broadcast of the match, Foxtel only for me, so haven't a clue who the commentators are on 7. And care even less.
Most of the foxtel guys are quite good, even got to like Isa Gooey and her knowing smirk. But for f**** sake I wish they would stop barracking for the poms to get a wicket or two. Warne's the worst too.
Pommie commentators would not do that.
Oh, I have a good friend whose son went to an exclusive private boarding college with Steve Waugh's son.
She reckons Waugh is a right see you next tuesday, Out of Warnie and that prick. I would take Warne as a dinner partner every day of the week.
We were in England in 2019 in their summer and copped it off everyone over sandpaper gate. What the players copped, particularly Steve Smith was just appalling. The Poms, lead by the moronic barmy army, say whatever they like to anyone and there is no limits to their crassness and abuse. Players, their wives, their kids, their families are all targeted for the most vile putrid comments.
Here is the kicker though, you are not allowed to say one thing against the England cricket team. If you do they get even more nasty and aggressive. At Headingly 2 Aussies were thrown out of the ground for asking to see Joffra’s passport!
When you pointed out that our idiots copped the harshest punishment ever, no it was not severe enough. When you point out the England have a long track record of ball tampering and give them examples, they just deny it. Rubbing mint on the ball, no that didn’t happen, Mike Atherton with dirt/sand in his pocket, no that didn’t happen. Watch Stuart Broad, he constantly picks at the seam of the ball, I have even seen him rake his spikes over the ball. Chappelli picked him up on it last tour but nothing was done.
Our pommies are very precious and a pack of sooks.

Re: ASHES 21/22
Pommies cheating again. 5th ball change this series and 2nd for the match.
Yeah ok ball goes out of shape but soon gets belted into shape again.
They will try anything including slowing down the overs to limit scoring and people wonder why I hate them so much.
Think happy feet summed those pricks up pretty much.

Is 300 about par on this wicket or have we bottled it?

DUNNO. Lyon and Boland are scoring pretty freely and you could hardly call either a batsman.

303 = is a fair score against a fair team
303 - against this England outfit? = 553!!
My guess..England all out for 79 by the close.

Re: ASHES 21/22
Hope you're right SG.
How about that a run out wicket within the first 15 minutes of a test innings. Never seen that before.
What a shambles of a team.

6 for 124 at tea SG should have been 8 for as Billings and Woakes both dropped in the slips by Warner and Khawaja off Boland.

They've been talking about how close together our slips are for the entire series. Doesn't Langer realise this or listen to those outside the bubble?

Amazingly aside from the score this was an overestimation of their innings.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jan 2022 4:08pm 303 = is a fair score against a fair team

Terrible shot by Warner. A shot of a player that had decided there were no runs in that pitch for him.

If the Poms keep the ball in the right spot, we have the ability to be 5 or 6 down at stumps.

Warner has been fantastic for Australian cricket in all forms of the game but IMO at test level he is showing signs that weight of expectation is affecting the way he has played in this series

He struggled against the moving new ball, but who doesn’t!

I beg your pardon.
..who doesn't struggle against a shiny, swinging new ball?
Are you kidding?
The answer is easy as A B C...sorry, eh..um...I mean A C O...
Which means A = Average, C = Compentent, O = Opening batsman

Fair call but had a bit of luck in one of those 90's bowled off a no ball, dropped twice & also a missed run out but he rode his luck I supposeThe_Dud wrote: ↑Sun 16 Jan 2022 12:09amHe’s scored two 90s this series, bit harsh.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jan 2022 11:09pm Warner has been fantastic for Australian cricket in all forms of the game but IMO at test level he is showing signs that weight of expectation is affecting the way he has played in this series

Re: ASHES 21/22
The missus and I attended an Ashes match in Sydney a few years ago just after the Barmy f****** Army became as annoying and as prominent as they are today.
Thought they were in a different part of the ground. How wrong I was.
As soon as the bowler came into bowl the first ball, they arose as one, right in f****** front of me.
They stayed standing for the whole day after that obiterating our view unless we also stood.
My lasting memory was the smell of BO. Those stories about the pommies being the great unwashed were proven correct AFAIWC
As the day wore on they got louder and drunker with the cops evicting a fair few of their number.
I pleaded with the young coppers to shoot the odd on or two but they politely declined.
Oh well it is what it is. Such is life said someone famously. Pleasing that our border laws kept the majority of the pricks at home this tour.

Re: ASHES 21/22
Hes's got balls for sure. And so has Root.
Wood was getting pummeled at 8 an over in the first innings. His average was getting a smashing, but he kept going. Plaudits due I think.
Gotta say as much as I hate the arrogance, and as much as how horrible Broad is, they haven't given up.
