Round 1 2022
Looks like we're playing North in Round 1 again.
They usually beat us when we do as well.
I hope we are ready for them - they finished all over us the last time we played them...

Re: Round 1 2022
Looking like being Collingwood round one
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Re: Round 1 2022
A forward half containing King, Sharman, Higgins, Wood and Butler looks pretty dangerous and I'm hoping they are all ready and firing by Round 1.

Kosi - way more than 104 for me. I often have a snooze in the afternoon, especially on a Sunday. I am guessing around 120-125 for me, but they will go quickly enough !

Without trying to jinx them, that set-up looks good for many many goals

It's at Marvel as per the big photo a few posts after the OP
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Round 1 2022
Looking forward to it. No reason for them not to be up for it & make a statement of intent for 2022.
However, being surrounded by Collingwood supporters first up may make me long for those good ol' days of lockdowns.

Re: Round 1 2022
Gee the AFL obviously not expecting great things from the Pies in 2022 if they scheduled their first game to be against us. Pies at the start of a hard rebuild so it should an easy 4 points to pick up.

Re: Round 1 2022
Will be interesting to see how many Collingwood fans show up.
1) They hate the stadium and stay away in droves a rule
2) They are decimated. Can anyone imagine that in the last 100 years, the Collingwood Football Club being at a lower ebb than they are now?
The AFL has used them for years as a cash cow...
(Gave em the MCG and scuppered our JO plans...aside)
They have been plagued by scandal, internal strife., off field troubles, court cases..
They are without leadership or brand...
The National League has not been kind, not the politically sterile climate in society and the media mutes the beat of their drum loudly!
They have lost a lot of their shrine and holy mecca of Vic Park..
Lost coach and president...lost games...lost prestige ...even their rogue fan club leader is marginalized..
But still look like 'animals' ...one toothed neaderthal in the copy book of stereotypes. (Listed under 'N')
How can they have any spirit left, and what spirit they show can be hung and quaretered by the press....If 'booing' is outlawed, Collingwood will be exhibit A

Re: Round 1 2022
3 - 7 for round one in last 10 seasons, knocking off GWS last year was a great start to an ultimately disappointing first half season.
Saints may go in favourites but don't under estimate Collingwood's intense desire to give their new coach (and board) a win first up - it will certainly give us a good indication of how ready and determined the players are to climb up the ladder.

"Any candidate for political office, once chosen for leadership, must have the will to take the wheel of a very powerful car, tasked from time to time to make a fast journey down a narrow, precipitous mountain road – and be highly skilled at driving. Otherwise, he is disqualified from the company of competent leaders."
