It hasn't descended at all. It's a discussion that opens the mind. All differing opinion welcomed Imo
Also..I have an equal dislike...or should I say 'intolerance' for ignorant migrants as I do for ignorant skips and rednecks
I also have a dislike for ALL religious nutters, regardless of what or who they call as their God

As a "peasant" of that generation let me assure you that the grandparents and their spiritual leaders would be more concerned with the orientation of many AFLW players than they would be about the jab!

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Most of Greece and Northern Macedonai (and especially the town folk and their children who currently live in those villagers where the peasant migrants come from) have all moved with the times and they have made progress

And one is a nutter if you believe in god. f****** unbelievable.
At least I had someone to thank, apart from the police, for that little girl's safe return.
I also share your dislike for rednecks though.
Can't we just stay on the footy ffs.

Re: Number 21 takes a leave of absence
Just as a follow up, you are right about the majority of Greeks supporting vaccines (whether they are conservative church goers or not) and I think the majority of educated people support the need for vaccinations to eradicate and control Covid 19.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Mon 01 Nov 2021 11:55pmIn a 1000 person survey taken in Greece at the beginning of the pandemic over 57% said they would take a vaccine if it was available. The most likely to take the vaccine, of the people surveyed, were (peasant parents) over the age of 65. Just like almost all those migrants who came here in the 50's and 60's would be now.Josh Battle wrote: ↑Mon 01 Nov 2021 2:31pm‘Qualify my theory?’ I heard it straight from the horses mouth … No!! Not Georgia herself. I heard it from a Greek Aussie who was born here but unfortunately they want to listen to the thoughts of their peasant parents who migrated here in the 1950’s or 1960’s.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sat 30 Oct 2021 6:45pmMaybe she’s just scared of needles?Josh Battle wrote: ↑Mon 25 Oct 2021 12:02pm I’m assuming that because Georgia is of Greek heritage that just like most people in Greece and most Greek Australians that she is Christian Orhodox.
This is pure speculation, so not really a ‘blab’ or any inside word or anything but I heard that certain elements of the Greek community who are conservative church goers have somehow linked God and religion with Covid 19 and for some unknown reason they are against getting vaccinated.
What’s his face - the Serbian fella Novak Djokovic is also Christian Orthodox and he’s apparently also against getting the vax. It’s difficult to understand how the peasant mind works and why the church or certain elements of the priesthood are pushing this line, but when it comes to religion, I don’t think logic or science comes into it…much
She is a gun player and it would be a shame if she follows the dumb illogical rules or customs of the extreme elements of the Greek church. ….all just my humble opinion and maybe it’s miles away from the truth and her real reasons for taking time out
Talk about ignorance and spreading fear and misinformation, but it’s only the “anti-vaxxers and you tubers who do this right?
Even if you did qualify your theory, I haven’t read so much crap…
Her body, her choice, biatch…
since when is 1 Greek Aussie an authority
I didn’t believe it at first but I did a google search and that’s when I decided to spread my ‘misinformation’
Unfortunately, there remains a sizeable number within the millions of Greek Australians and Greek expats in America and they are more interested in what the Greek Church and the hierarchy in Athens preaches to them rather than listening to health advice from scientists….a bit like some politicians who are followers of evangelical preachers
Maybe you’re right about her being scared of needles… but answer me this please biatch
IF the stuff I wrote about is anywhere near the truth and IF there is an element in the Greek community that is somehow tying in their choice NOT to be vaccinated with their FAITH and they believe the theories from their church (or more specifically the extreme elements from a few religious nutters) do you think that religious leaders should be giving health advice to their followers?
Something doesn't add up in your assumptions based on the opinion of 1 Aussie Greek bloke, who obviously likes to stir up bigoted, racist, misinformed and ignorant Skips and perhaps even you too.
Your final paragraph is a reasonable question.
There are always going to be religious nutters using their political power to influence their flocks to maintain theit power and wealth
There are also nutter politicians using there influences in churches to do the same.
Religion, politics and power are intrinsically linked.
Here's some news from Greece itself, the voice of the horses mouth:
https://amp.dw.com/en/orthodox-church-u ... a-56251674
From NSW:
https://www.slhd.nsw.gov.au/sydneyconne ... sages.html
Here's some from the American Greek Orthodox community:
https://apnews.com/article/health-relig ... 7b7b87c185
And from Melbourne:
https://www.greekcommunity.com.au/gocmv ... ury-church
I was talking about a minority within the Greek community (and a minority of the overall population of Greek Australians) and I heard another doozy yesterday. Some of them apparently reckon that if you get the jab, you are injecting the devil straight into your soul
Firstly I suppose you need to believe in the Devil, which has always been difficult for me to grasp that particular concept and then you have to believe that it’s evil to try and train your immune system and white blood cells to fight infection. How’s that for nutty?

Calling aussies ignorant skips is the same as calling migrants ignorant wogs or ignorant dagoes AFAIC.
None of it is acceptable despite what some fake intellectual ignoramus might think or post.

I think the pertinent question is...
When is Georgia coming back to the Saints ?
When is Georgia coming back to the Saints ?
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

You poor thing
You must have copped so much abuse and bullying.
Being labelled and stereotyped is terrible and can have long lasting affects on young people.
I know how you feel.
Being vilified and segregated is disgusting.
How many times a day and how many times a week were you called a skip?

Plugger used to say. "You gotta let 'em know that, 'You can't give it' in the first place and expect to get away with it"
I guess that is the genesis of the pre-emptive strike.
When good stewardship of your boundaries crosses into territory that the community doesn't like reminding about.
The tribunal duly dispenses the weeks...and boy did Plugger lose a few (dozen).
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

i thought then
('n expressed my view then)
that Plugger got done over
first by the braying mob
second by management
(for not pulling the mob into line)
third by his own frustration levels
(at unfairly being blamed as the cause
of SS's woes)
he was a content provider/provoker

i would hope
we've learnt
and protect our own
instead of feeding them to the Cancel Culture
on the grounds of an ... opinion
judged by or on behalf of
some so called silent majority
who add nothing to the field
except their 'judgements'
the treatment Plugger copped , imo , was shameful

Even if your hypothesis about the player is true, she is still not statistically representative of the population you are making ill informed comments about. This is called selection bias.
I would suggest that the Greek community are are average, no more anti COVID vaccine than any other ethnic groups in the community. There may be a very good chance that the vaccination rate for the “peasants” as you called them, may on average, be a bit higher than other demographic groups in the community given the older age of this cohort. That’s just a theory and not a scientific fact because I haven’t bothered to test it but it’s no more ridiculous than your demented hypothesis.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
