Re: Assistant Coaches
Pretty tough to defend when midfield is getting smashed!!!
Every played in the backline in that situation?

Re: Assistant Coaches

Weren’t you the one whingeing he didn’t know how to defend after we lost to the Crows?

Re: Assistant Coaches
Yes Teffers I do believe you are correct. According to B.M the single reason we lost to Adelaide was Howard’s inability to defend close enough.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Re: Assistant Coaches
I am guilty of a very selective memory, therefore I admit it before I get abused.
My memories of Howard kicking in after a point is- that he has a habit of usually looking around until the ump calls him to go, then he boots it to a predictable spot.
Against WCE, Nic Nat or another WCE tall was ready and their mids swept it back into danger.
Against Cats, their talls were ready, n made sure their medium sized guys got it.
Against Bombers, against Doggies, etc etc, same thing happened.
PREDICTABLE
(Get ready for the abuse)
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

I also worry when the umpire calls play on...at times he appears to kick just before a player smothers....leaves it late it’s heart in mouth Clanger stuff
Great player just don’t let him kick out ffs

Re: Assistant Coaches
That was one incident
Which ultimately cost the side a game
I don’t judge a footballer on one incident, do you?!
That means everyone who’s missed a goal, is a poor kick… including Lockett everyone who’s been out marked is a poor defender… including Hudghton
Everyone who’s missed a tackle, can’t tackle… including Steele
Howard zones off, whether it be instruction or instinct I don’t know but in this instance - with a stoppage inside 20m he needed to be arm across.
I reckon it was highlighted in review
Overall, he’s a good key back

Re: Assistant Coaches
Carlton pursue Dean Solomon and Brendan McCartney in new-look coaching panel and Voss is looking for a tactician, apparently.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Dean Solomon meant to go ok

Re: Assistant Coaches
I posted the above post yesterday after reading it on line, only to read this today...
CARLTON has finalised its assistant coaching panel, poaching the highly accomplished Ashley Hansen from the Western Bulldogs.
No mention of Solomon and McCartney.
Don't believe everything you read.

Does anyone know what role Chris McKay from Sandy will have at the Saints in 2022 ?

Re: Assistant Coaches
In his previous role at the club under Richardson he held the position of Football Analyst and Analysis Academy Manager. At Sandringham I think he was the midfield line coach - but given we are looking to build our player development areas I dare say he would be involved there some how?

Re: Assistant Coaches
Now employing Chris McKay it would appear that the club thought McGlynn needed help with the midfield line coaching role?
