Delisted Free Agents
How many spots on the list are available?
Frawley, Dunstan, Roberton, Lonie, McKernan, Clavarino, Carlisle all delisted
It seems we will only take 3 in the National Draft
Pick 11
And the two Academy Boys
Does Sharman get added to the Primary list??
Because by my count we still need 3 more?!
Delisted FA’s

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Unless there is a need to make spaces on the rookie list, it makes no sense adding someone to the primary list prematurely. They have full playing rights these days, and we get a discount from the TPP. He has the contract. Just leave him there.

Re: Delisted Free Agents
I also think Gags is going to go for another mid season draft raid. Hold on to a couple of list spots to grab some kid that didn’t get a good showing in the lower leagues this year due to not playing.

He was cat b, so we would have to replace him with someone like a Basketballer or an Irishman.

Re: Delisted Free Agents
My delisted FA priority list. Let's say we take three, which would fit with our likely delistings/draft strategy (Pick 9 + Windhager & Owens).
1. Blake Schlensog - Obviously lots of clubs after him, not sure we can get him but certainly have to try.
2. Jarrod Brander - 195cm U18 All Australian in 2017, went at pick 13, has done the apprenticeship. Slow start to AFL career, but that can happen with KPP's. Not yet delisted but think that's on the cards.
3. Charlie Constable - Really just a straight swap for Dunstan, but five years younger. Only knock on him is pace, but it didn't stop LD monstering teams in the second half of 2021.
Critically, all 22 or younger and starved of opportunity but all showed they are capable at this level.
Others:
Naish - maybe, if we can't get Constable. I haven't quite seen enough of him yet to think he'll make it, but he was an U18 AA and a top 35 pick.
Hartley - if we miss Schlensog, he's a low-cost, low-risk insurance option.
Hanrahan - a replacement for Lonie? Perhaps. Bit more size than Lonie, which I like. Numbers weren't bad. Only 23. Not the worst.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Surely Wilkie is not a Rookie?!
He’s in the leadership group ffs
He wouldn’t be on a rookie contract (80k) if he is that means over the last 3 years he’s got about $3000 a game and Hannebery about $180 000 per game
And I thought Sharman got a contract extension- wouldn’t that mean he’s now a listed player?
And who are all of our Rookies?
Is Wood a rookie? Joyce can’t be?
Is Gardner a rookie?
As it stands the following jumper numbers available

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Cal Wilkie must be the only player ever to be in a leadership group whilst being a Rookie

One of the things I find a bit more irritating about footy these days is that nothing means what it used to.B.M wrote: ↑Fri 15 Oct 2021 4:49pm Surely Wilkie is not a Rookie?!

Yes Wilkie is a rookie to the rules except really he’s top 5, can play without restrictions, is being payed more than a traditional rookie salary and you don’t promote rookies anymore
Other than that… he’s a rookie

Re: Delisted Free Agents
You can also get not be a Rookie for 2 years, unless delisted an re-rookied
Or that used to be the case for interstate Rookies
Victorian Rookies could be cut after 1 season

Re: Delisted Free Agents
If Wilkie stays as a rookie in 2022 that will be his 4th year as a Rookie.

Bigoa Nyuon has been delisted by the Tigers but will be re-rookied in the Rookie draft.

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Tigers have delisted Biggy with a promise to rookie him.
Those pricks stole him from us so now would serve them right if we stole him back.

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Not sure they stole him off us, we picked Brynes 2 picks before Tigers picked Nyuon and judging it so far we picked correctly..

Re: Delisted Free Agents
Jarrod Brander if he is delisted would be worth a spot, but would have a number of clubs interested.
Patrick Naish because of his speed and kicking skills.
A ruckman or very last option Hunter gets another year.
