Hopefully the club/s can work something out? Perhaps they could agree but ask for their 3rd round back? Basically just moving back 6 to 8 draft positions.

Re: Tristan Xerri
It's going to be a very quiet off season if we can't even squeeze a third ruck out of the bottom club.

Re: Tristan Xerri
BM'er, do ya reckon we've got a bit of a rep as a soft touch that'll pay up in light squeeze? Serious question....followed by an attempt at salubrious wit & tomfoolery....thus it begins....
I'm not saying North aren't a special breed of w@nk, but we HAVE been touched up during trade periods... except that time we fleeced Hawks for pick 18&19& Savage...
And then...St Kilda traded… pick No. 6 and pick No. 59 to GWS
St Kilda received… pick No. 12 and pick No. 18 from GWS...
And then we got Crouch for nothing from Adelaide....
Nah, you're right, it's just North being tw@ts, flinging it on the wall hoping it sticks....oh damn...unless every club in the AFL can see the gaping hole in our ruck stocks?

I've never seen this kid play but by what I have read here and elsewhere he seems a bit like Longer.
Pretty good ruckman that can't play anywhere else and has less than average disposal.
Is that someone we need?

Re: Tristan Xerri
What we need is someone who can come in, at least break even at ruck contests and give our on ballers a fair chance. This player, certainly next season will need to work in tandem, mostly with RoMa, to give a Paddy a break...maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks. If that player is better than Hunter then he's of value.
Just reading Brady Rawlings comments and he seems like he's struggling to justify their demand and how much or if they even value Xerri. Good on him but North will not be better off having Xerri on their list in 2022 when they can off load his contract now.

Re: Tristan Xerri
I do know that we gave up too much for Brad Hill
And in terms of Salary a lot for Dan Hannebery
Got Ryder and Howard cheap
Got Butler cheap
About right price for Jones
Do we play hardball - not really
We just try to get deals done

Read BFUSA's take on Xerri on page 1 of this thread. BFUSA knows his ruckmen.IluvHarvey wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 9:10am I've never seen this kid play but by what I have read here and elsewhere he seems a bit like Longer.

Don’t know him myself but it doesn’t read well that he barely played and has been dropped in the pecking order. North fans on FB don’t have anything much positive to say

Re: Tristan Xerri
Who knows? Could be a case of a young guy held back in his development by circumstances such as the club not knowing how to develop young players, being played out of position, not being given a good run at cementing his spot. Don't know, it's all speculation. I hope we get him and he thrives. Best case scenario we have Marshall, 26y.o, Xerri 22 and Heath 18 and they can all play. That would be a good outcome.skeptic wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 12:10pmSounds like a promising prospect if truest.byron wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 11:24amRead BFUSA's take on Xerri on page 1 of this thread. Re: Tristan Xerri
Cal Twomey on Trade Radio just said he thinks the Xerri trade is unlikely to happen. I hope he is wrong, but would rather the club doesnt pay overs for him. He must be an upgrade on Hunter for the club to chase him, but is he worth a 2nd rounder I doubt it?
Looks like Hunter may get another year - which is scary. We will still need a permanent replacement for Ryder at the end of next year, as I doubt Max Heath will be ready then? Which leaves the club in a bit of a quandry.

Yes I also don't want us to once again trade away a future second rounder - Freeman, Hannebery......Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 1:16pm Cal Twomey on Trade Radio just said he thinks the Xerri trade is unlikely to happen. Re: Tristan Xerri
Not much happening.
I wonder if Jarrod Brander has ever played in the ruck in his younger years? 196cm 96kgs athletic tall might be just the player to fill the hole? He couldnt be any worse than Hunter resting forward in any event.

If we can't make a trade happen for Xerri and Ryder and Marshall are not available for selection at the same time in 2022, we are in trouble, just like we were in 2021.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 1:16pm Cal Twomey on Trade Radio just said he thinks the Xerri trade is unlikely to happen. The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Isn’t Marshall the obvious number 1 Ruckman in 2023 with Heath developing and the 2 King boys holding down the 2 key Forward spots. Hunter a backup next year and Xerri might come in when he is uncontracted.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 12 Oct 2021 1:16pm Cal Twomey on Trade Radio just said he thinks the Xerri trade is unlikely to happen. Re: Tristan Xerri
If we were to switch to a single ruck set up, we could probably play an extra tall with a good tank like Wood or Battle.
Keep King and Sharman deeper forward and have Membrey and Wood as Winger high HF.
I think I'd prefer this set up to Hunter coming in as a second ruck.
