Nice mark and I was ecstatic when he took itVortex wrote: ↑Thu 07 Oct 2021 9:42pmhttps://www.saints.com.au/video/434775/ ... 5594626001
- but not exactly Roo-esque - his was totally jumping into other people
- Josh had the best position to take it and whilst running back he was not running into a pack

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
You'd have to think if there was a pack coming the other way then he was going to crash it which is the part I suppose I'm highlighting, Members was clearly in awe of the attack on the play, courageous I think was his comment. There was a Freo player that made the contest BTW, Josh didn't see him.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Fri 08 Oct 2021 8:05amNice mark and I was ecstatic when he took itVortex wrote: ↑Thu 07 Oct 2021 9:42pmhttps://www.saints.com.au/video/434775/ ... 5594626001

I think Josh offers something most of the team don't have yet, Steely has it. Call it a vibe but it's the thing you need to go deep into September. Competitive beast.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
I think he would benefit greatly by having a set position to play and build on being better at it, then later maybe can adapt to the swingman role if it’s warranted

Gotta love this forum - disagree with 1 part of a comment and suddenly people have to snap to defend their position.Vortex wrote: ↑Fri 08 Oct 2021 9:53amYou'd have to think if there was a pack coming the other way then he was going to crash it which is the part I suppose I'm highlighting, Members was clearly in awe of the attack on the play, courageous I think was his comment. I just don't think it was as good as Roo's - I never said it was a bang ordinary intercept mark - in fact I said: Nice mark and I was ecstatic when he took it we were seated quite close to it.
But if it soothes you Vortex - take some of my 1,000,000 Internet Points
Oh - and BTW - I have always liked Josh - even before I developed a business relationship with someone related to him

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
I do too, he is just the sort of utility player the team needs to play all over the ground, has plenty of mongrel - all he needs to do is work his butt off in the off-season to get himself super fit and give the selectors no option but to play him.
Perhaps the speculation that he could be traded will spur him on - 2022 will be his 6th year at the club and 54 games in 5 years is well below expectations, let's hope the new Development Coach can help Battle to unlock his potential.

Enough to save a game for a close win over Freemantle. Easy to forget St Kilda wins as we win so many games.Teflon wrote: ↑Sat 09 Oct 2021 12:26amIf you have to try how memorable was it?Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Fri 08 Oct 2021 10:37pmProbably because you haven't tried to remember.

You’d think if we were going to trade him… next year would make more sense. Seems like he would be an invaluable piece as part of a trade for Bing

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
One action doesn’t ensure a contract extension or career
It was an important mark.
What’s probably more significant was his 2019 season playing in defence
It was more than serviceable
Not sure why we had to be changed to the wing?

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
What do you think his best position is BM?
I don’t reckon he’s a good mid
Btw King, Membrey, Sharman and a resting ruck there isn’t a spot for him forward
And as a defender… his best spot is CHB but is he big enough?
I feel like Ratten doesn’t have a good sense of what to do with him.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
He played some very good games at CHB.
He might only be 192 cm tall, but he has a strong body and can hold his ground - so he can position himself at or near the drop of the ball even against a taller opponent.
