Re: Battle to Brisbane?
Can't wait for Wednesday Evening, October 13th 2021, the trade period will be over and there will be an end to all this malarkey.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
What a pile of crap. Might get a late 2nd or early 3rd rounder??

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
I think it is more complicated and involved than you described.
I believe it involves Battle and our first round pick in exchange for two picks from them.
Brisbane holds 14,18 and 47. So we give them 9 and Battle and get 14, 18 in return.
Don't know if true but being suggested.

That sounds more realistic, time will tell.damienc wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:33pmI think it is more complicated and involved than you described.

Where would Brisbane play Battle, as a forward rather than a winger.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
Wasn't there talk of our pick 9 for their picks 14 and 18. Why would we bother including Battle just for pick 47?Wayne42 wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:39pmThat sounds more realistic, time will tell.damienc wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:33pmI think it is more complicated and involved than you described.

Sweeten the deal maybe, 1 pick out and 3 picks in, Battle might be the steak knives for the 3 picks.realdeal wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:48pmWasn't there talk of our pick 9 for their picks 14 and 18. Might help with the Xerri deal, if that one is real, getting an extra 3rd round pick.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
That would make Battle the equivalence of pick # 28, about right IMO.damienc wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:33pmI think it is more complicated and involved than you described.

He'd play as a forward until Hipwood returns then he becomes the same problem we have.Wayne42 wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:39pmThat sounds more realistic, time will tell.damienc wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 9:33pmI think it is more complicated and involved than you described.

Battle is a better, more versatile option than someone like Cox.
If true, good luck to him. Seems like a win / win. They get much needed cover & we get much needed draft picks.

Sorry Guys - I cannot help - I used to be an ITK about Battle - sadly COVID has kiboshed this

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
Sounds solid and helps us with points. The only question I have then is who plays CHB or are committing to the smaller "bigs" line up down back with Howard Wilkie and Highmore?
Not saying that's wrong just wondering. If so then I would do something like that bring in 2 first rounders (Late) and also then at 18 will have an idea who picks 19 and 20 will be in regard to academy players and draft day trades become a factor.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
Unless I'm reading it wrong, that trade gives us 14 for a pick and 18 to use on NGA selection. Instead of having to bid with 9 on the NGA selection.

Re: Battle to Brisbane?
Can’t match any bid on an NGA kid if they are selected before 20, so it wouldn’t be related to any NGA selection.

If everybody navel gazing on this thread picked the lint out of their belly-buttons we would have enough to stuff a mattress.

I agree with you Trev. Josh needs to be given a position to settle into. I think he can take a good pack mark, is a big solid unit and can kick a goal when it’s needed.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Thu 07 Oct 2021 7:40pm If everybody navel gazing on this thread picked the lint out of their belly-buttons we would have enough to stuff a mattress.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Anyone remember that game he ran back with the flight of the ball with only eyes for the ball with scant regard for his personal safety and took a chest mark Roo esque?
