He does cost something. A place on the list.

Clearly our insurance tactic failed miserably this year.

Do you see any of the powerful clubs recruiting insurance (Geelong the exception, and how is that going for them)

Get young players you can develop and groom into your team.

Patrick Naish is 22yo

Frawley was 33, McKernan was 31

Big difference

How did you see the signing of Higgins for last season?

Butler?

They were Richmond outcasts.

I thought the club was getting rid of GOP's, not bringing more in.

He might end up at Carlton, they're getting everyone else.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

They should be looking for better players than Naish, if they are chasing success, unless Sandy needs some depth.

So your saying he can't be groomed to improve and have a roll in a best 28 playing group ( need that depth minimal to win as injuries , suspensions always happen)?
IF not then no dont get
If maybe then surely better than Lonie or Kent, neither of which I see in the next top 4 side of ours.
Need to look at who else would be in that list place .

Of course it is small.
Barely 6 foot.
Only 12cm taller than me.

St Kilda was willing to spend 542 points on him at pick 34 but Richmond got him for 444 points = pick 39

LOL - but we got someone at 3,000 points as well - once drafted the position and point value of that player means nought - if they develop great - if not cast them aside and start again.

I am reminded of a Cost accounting exercise.
If you produce 10,000 widgets per day and have just bought a machine that produces widgets for $0.05 but get offered one that will do the same widget for $0.03 (all other costs are the same) for $20,000 do you scrap your brand new machine and buy another??

Naish at Richmond is not worth pick 34 anymore - he is worth what someone will pay for him - historical 'cost' is irrelevant

Tinker with the 5c machine for a number of years, thinking you'll make it better and start producing at 3c. Stuff it up so much that it's now producing at 8c, so sell it to Essendon who tighten one screw and make it work at 2c.

When the Tigers could barely field a mid field through all the injuries he could still hardly get a game.

We don’t need another smallish lightly built player, did anyone from our club watch the grand final. It is all about big explosive players, if you were going to take a player cheaply then Hamish Hartlett (probably too old but ..) or Powell Pepper (could be available)
Spot on Terry
Small
Can’t win his own ball
Will be another Lonie
Not what we need
Astounds me

For a start they play different positions
One is a crumbing small forward the other a Wing/HF runner

Secondly
Lonie is 174cm 71kg
Naish is 183cm 78kg

Oh
And if you can’t win your own footy, you don’t get a kick on small VFL ovals in windy wet conditions you don’t dominate.

BTW
Lonie is a tough little f***er
