Personally I prefer Kent but then I also like Billings and Sebby.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Tue 28 Sep 2021 3:47pmNot questioning it just think there's more upside in a younger and more fit Lonie than Kentsaynta wrote: ↑Tue 28 Sep 2021 3:43pmYeah maybe but my source is realiable.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Tue 28 Sep 2021 3:41pmWhich is bonkers iny opinion...surely Lonie has more value dropping into the forward line if everyone else in the small forward category is hurt?saynta wrote: ↑Tue 28 Sep 2021 12:30pmAt which stage if there are no takers for either player, Lonie will be delisted and Kent offered a one year contract.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 28 Sep 2021 12:26pm Trade Radio

Nothing against Lonie but he is not a premiership player.

If we had draft picks neither Lonie or Kent would be at the club next year.

Crouch, Jones, Gresham, Bytel, Ross, Clark, Hill, Billings, Hannaberry, Byrnes, Connolly
Seemed to be enough there to beat a few top 8 teams this year.

Do we have a fitness conditioning guy/girl yet as I haven't heard anything about that position and if we do are they any good, as I really think this is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle if we get that wrong we have another season with half a team out and it effects performance.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
From herald sun.com.au
"Can the Saints improve enough to contend in 2022?
Only Western Bulldogs loyalists, the most miserly rival fans, and a select few AFL coaches, would have begrudged the smack-down Melbourne handed to the Western Bulldogs on the weekend.
When you wait 57 years for an elusive premiership, the bandwagon is full of interlopers and Johnny-Come-Latelys.
Yet, a penny for the thoughts of Sam Mitchell and Brett Ratten as their heads touched the pillow on Saturday night?
As Melbourne stampeded to that history-making premiership, it was apparent they aren’t anywhere close to done yet.
For Ratten, who urged his players to think “Why not us?” as they parted for their holidays, is that sentiment really true?
Without adding more key pieces this trade period, is St Kilda talented enough to win the premiership next year as their president Andrew Bassat suggested in his mid-year open letter to fans?
Ratten will believe improvement can come from within, given Jade Gresham played three games, Hunter Clark 13, Zak Jones 13, Jack Billings and Rowan Marshall battled significant foot and plantar fascia issues, Paddy Ryder played only a dozen games, and Max King has played just 38 career games.
St Kilda plans to go to the draft instead of adding ruck depth with players like Rory Lobb or Peter Ladhams.
But would Melbourne’s dominance make Ratten more eager to see whether rivals might be keen on players like Josh Battle to create some cap space and picks to fast-track the club’s 2022 ambitions with a trade acquisition? "
"11. Nathan Kreuger (Geelong to Collingwood)
Kreuger is a canny acquisition by the Pies, who will win his services despite the interest of St Kilda. The Cats swingman has played only a single AFL game in three years – two of them with few real VFL games.

But in his first VFL season, he showed he can be an aerial threat averaging eight marks, three intercept marks and seven intercept possessions.
He also pushed forward to kick six goals against Coburg in that season and wants to play forward, so will have a chance to join Brody Mihocek and Darcy Cameron as a marking target in a team crying out for more of them."

Discarded midfielder Patrick Naish says he is holding "pretty positive" talks with rival clubs, having been delisted by Richmond last month. Naish is understood to be attracting interest from St Kilda.

Dont know much about him, but from all accounts is very much an outside mid. You have to question if he hasnt made it in the Richmond environment how hell go, but I guess some players take longer than others.

Interesting to read that the 2022 AFL draft will have a lot more Key Position players available within it compared to this year.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

If this is true then neither Lonie & Kent will receive a contract offer. I'm not sure either should if we genuinely wish to improve our list & depth.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Fri 01 Oct 2021 9:34pm Discarded midfielder Patrick Naish says he is holding "pretty positive" talks with rival clubs, having been delisted by Richmond last month. Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
9 games in 5 years at Richmond suggests he is just another ordinary player, not what I would have thought St Kilda would be chasing to beef up its midfield. Maybe they like his accuracy in front of goals: 3 from 3

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
I assume thats why they are waiting on an offer - to see how our list numbers look after the trade & drafts? If the club sees better options available they will be squeezed out, similiarly Paul Hunter if they attract an upgrade eg Ladhams.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 02 Oct 2021 9:41amIf this is true then neither Lonie & Kent will receive a contract offer.
