It's a forum, a kind of connection with the like minded, so I see it as being courteous.

2. We have several players around his age and experience that it dilutes his impact on the list.

You'd think so but for a person looking to sign their last contract it appears the one they have worked their ar$e off for is not willing to stump up the cash.

If Luke Parker is going to come to St Kilda and If Luke Parker is happy with $700K and a four year contract, then we’d be nuts If we haven’t already prepared the paperwork. I’m not going to mention his name but there are others on our list who are supposedly getting 900K a year. I don’t care if Luke hobbles on one leg in his last year, he’ll be worth every dollar we pay if it’s 4x 700.

We are getting a player BEFORE he is in decline, and not after he is in decline. There is no evidence to suggest that he is going to be injury prone either. I think he is definitely the difference between St Kilda scraping into the top 8 or perhaps pushing for a top 4 spot in the next 2-3 years. If he gives us 3 good years we’d be laughing and way out ahead.

If we have a leadership team who is focused on securing top 4 chance rather than trying to secure themselves a $700K contract, then I believe they will embrace sacrificing 100K-200K for the chance at winning some silverware. If they become the team to lift up a cup for the St Kilda Football Club they will become immortals (in the eyes of the St Kilda supporter base)

And if we persist with Lonie, Seb, etc, then it's just crazy.
Let go of fringe, don't look at 28+, put faith in youth.

Let him go to the suns where he would be a great fit. That cause salary cap issues this making Ben king more attainable. To be honest I don’t really want Ben as we have more pressing needs but if nothing else it would be an awesome forward line

"SAINTS RULE OUT INTEREST IN PARKER

St Kilda has ruled itself out of any interest in free agent Luke Parker, who is intent on considering his options given only a two-year offer from the Swans.

Parker won the Sydney best-and-fairest this week and is looking for a four-year deal worth around $700,000 a season.

Sydney has offered only two years at around $500,000-$550,000.

At this stage Gold Coast is considered making a play but Parker turns 29 in October and the Suns are more focussed on key forwards.

Parker would be a strong fit for a club such as St Kilda which believes it is opening up a premiership window.

But the Saints are looking to keep cash for a bid for Ben King next year.

The Saints hoping for seasons from Hunter Clark and Jade Gresham next year to reinvigorate a midfield that dropped out of the top eight for contested possession differential and clearance differential.

St Kilda’s Dan Hannebery is believed to have made a financial sacrifice that could help the club’s cap space given only 15 games in three seasons.

But despite speculation he might have split next year’s money into the 2022-23 seasons, it can be confirmed his guaranteed contract will expire at the end of next year.

It means the Saints have only one more year of a deal that when struck was to be a five-year deal but ended up at four years on over $700,000 with a fifth-year trigger.

Opinions are split on Parker’s worth given he turns 29 before next season.

He is a stoppage beast who can kick 20 goals a season and never misses a game but some list bosses will worry that without pace he could hit a wall at 31 and leave them with a big wage bill in his last seasons."
