FWIW,
Drafting both Allison and Sharman in the mid year, the club would be rapt that one of them has stood out at senior level.
You don't know how a kid is going to adjust to the leap from VFL to AFL. Sharman has thrived, looks better at AFL than VFL.
Allison, bit younger, not much so far, cost us nothing....

We took took Allison at last years draft, it was Heath who we took with Sherman at mid season draft. You are right though Sherman adapted straight away but we don’t know about Allison yet.

If we drafted Petracca everyone would be now complaining that the Dees have a 3 time Coleman winner whilst our mid is underperforming. Billings could have won a flag and The Bont spraying em into F50. All about the development.

Why do people always assume that an 18 yo kids form is going to improve if they are not given the right development? Have a look at Melbourne and Western Bulldogs for the period that Bont and Petracca have been involved in. Then look at ours - Bont and Petracca did not inspire the success - the success dragged them along. General team development has assisted them.

I liked Paddy early days. He had some games where he looked really dangerous. Could have become a good player for us. Never as good as Petracca but it would hurt less if not for his career being destroyed by concussion.

Is great now but was he great in his first year when he did his knee ..... think nearly all of us were like thank fk we didnt pick Petracca at that time

Then everything flipped with Paddy's unforeseen concussion issues
