Re: Dunstan dropped
Opinion. Long = Dunstan > Ross. Footsteps.
Ross = Newnes. Many can do his role.
Hoping Dunstan stays but on relative coin. If - as likely will play out - he leaves means Steele can be the rightful next owner of Lenny's #7.

Re: Dunstan dropped
Ridiculous
Long averages 9 touches a game and 0.15 goals
Btw
People at that level don’t hear ‘footsteps’

Re: Dunstan dropped
Disagree look at what happened with Crouch. Often teams prefer to work out a trade be it for better picks or salary cap flexibility the free agency . If he got hurt then free agency becomes only option.IluvHarvey wrote: ↑Fri 20 Aug 2021 6:47pmThere is no trade value. He may well walk in free agency and compensation is then salary based however in everyone's best interest to have that flexibility

Re: Dunstan dropped
Steele is about to receive his 2nd AA & win his second B&F. I thinks he's earned his right to be himself & have the #9 synonymous with him (& the G Train of course).

Re: Dunstan dropped
The only way the other Crouch works is if replaces Ross and and Dunstan.
A starting middle of Steele, Crouch X2 and Hannerbery (if he gets up) is bloody formidable but also seriously needs a serious outside run to compliment it

Re: Dunstan dropped
Well possibly Dunstan is gone (and if not is down the pecking order) and Ross is already not playing as a core ball wining midfielder anymore.
Is he another Hanners re his body though?
I have not at all followed his injury record and so do not know at all. But he missed all of 2021, and missed some games in the three proceeding years.
On the plus side is he is restricted free agent, and having his brother may see him favour us.
On the con side though is whether he actually is the type of mid that will improve us given what mids we already have?

Re: Dunstan dropped
Seb tackled really well Sunday didn't he? Looked Serious.
Bytel seems a biggish unit, slow burn but keeps getting better.
Luke possibly playing/auditioning for a contract away from us last week and it backfired. May not get a glowing reference.

Re: Dunstan dropped
I wonder given that Gold Coast wont have Greenwood for the majority of 2022 with an ACL, would they consider trading Brayden Fiorini for Dunstan and a late pick?

Re: Dunstan dropped
Apparently - that is not right - I thought so too - but apparently as an Unsigned Free Agent - we would still be entitled to the Compensation Picksaynta wrote: ↑Wed 25 Aug 2021 1:12pmDunstan will walk to whatever team he chooses and we will get zilth, nada, nothing.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 24 Aug 2021 12:23am I wonder given that Gold Coast wont have Greenwood for the majority of 2022 with an ACL, would they consider trading Brayden Fiorini for Dunstan and a late pick?

Re: Dunstan dropped
Dunny or his manager might ask the club to delist him so another club can pick him up as an SSP..
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Dunstan dropped
I really don't know. I also believe that compo can depend on the amount of his next contract. Which might only be for two years. Its not as if a club has to pry him out of Moorabbin.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Wed 25 Aug 2021 6:47pmHave we? Re: Dunstan dropped
Im not convinced he has been delisted yet. He may have been told he's not getting another contract, but until the club officially delists him he holds trade value. The only reason the club would delist him now is if they have a deal with another club to let him walk as a DFA for something in return.saynta wrote: ↑Wed 25 Aug 2021 1:12pmDunstan will walk to whatever team he chooses and we will get zilth, nada, nothing.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Tue 24 Aug 2021 12:23am I wonder given that Gold Coast wont have Greenwood for the majority of 2022 with an ACL, would they consider trading Brayden Fiorini for Dunstan and a late pick?

The article says he is moving on not delisted -
