Love the sound when he hits someone. They stay hit too. And he can cop it sweet when the favour is returned.

Others hear footsteps.

Love Benny.

That’s the secret to getting 6 disposals.

Yes, I got to admit, there is that too. He did a couple of good things today though.

Yep I love his physicality, for some reason I really want him to be awesome. He needs to get the stats on his side for sure. Would love him to have a good year. Mind you, I'd love my son to be good at English. Can't have everything you want apparently.

Yeah, me too and I think he can be. He just needs to discover he belongs at AFL level

Disposal/handling stats are not the be-all - his intensity as a defensive forward today played a important part in the way the forward line succeeded to kick a winning score.

Yep well said, had the pricks looking over their shoulders and rushing their disposals.

Loved his tackles today. He certainly makes the opposition hear footsteps which set the tone in the first half

He was in good position for a few cheap possessions but his team mates don’t look for him.

They should be looking for him because he uses it better than some of the first 22 in the team

Long had six disposals at 100% efficiency and also laid 6 tackles for the match

I think he could be looking to move on or the club might try and do a trade

….just on cheapy possessions, some people think that getting 10 cheapy handball receives is somehow going to help the team win games.

It doesn’t!!

The younger Voss is a case in point. Once he realised he belonged at AFL level, there was an instant improvement in his ball winning ability.

I am waiting for the penny to drop with Ben, and when it does the sky is the limit.

Can't be as positive unfortunately, to me, his physical stuff , while good, does not make up for his fumble skills. He is actually a nice kick , but often makes poor decisions.
Keep on the list but 2022 needs to be a big year for him

That 25m punch forward in the last qtr that lead to a goal was as good as a possession..

That was incredibly dangerous and lucky. He often refuses to take possession and taps the ball almost randomly.

Dangerous that he hit it past 3 freo players? Take possession and get done holding g the ball inside 50? That was a smart knock on and not the first he has done.

How do you know his role today was as a forward?

Seemed to me like he was in the backline and tagging one of their mids for most of his game time

We need a player that puts fear in the opposition. Long is that player. Those types of players are what makes the difference in a Grand Final

Silly Scollop

Don’t you know that a forward pocket that only gets 6 touches and 6 tackles needs to step up...
But a 120 game former B&F winner playing between the arcs the whole game and getting a whopping 14 touches is demonstrating leadership, doing his role, and “keeping structure” (whilst no doubt feeding the poor on the way home).

It’s called objectivity

Would hope for a Winger to get 20 on an average day
Can depend on a few things.

Would hope for a HF to get 12-15 especially in a 10 goal win

Long struggles to get his hands on it, consistently

Avg 9.5 disposals this season
2.1 tackles
0.15 goals

Not great reading

It went through Mundy’s legs. If Long planned that he’s a genius.
