Re: I’m done
Is it a discipline thing with some St Kilda players?
Everything was monitored last year in the hubs as far as food, sleep, and lifestyle choices were concerned.
E.g. Do we have an alcohol rule like Hawthorn does?
The Hawks don’t allow their players to drink after a game if there’s a 6 day break or less coming up.
https://afl.sportsmatemobile.com/news/27745
Now that players aren’t together 24/7 like last year, maybe some of them don’t prepare as well.

Re: I’m done
Tipping there will be plenty of room at our next home game.
2/3 of our fans won't be bothered coming to see crap like we have dished up this month.
And many of them are new members - part of our record membership.
Will they renew?

We'll be lucky to get 30,000 members in 2022 if the club keeps dishing up this tripe.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Sun 25 Apr 2021 10:46pm Tipping there will be plenty of room at our next home game.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: I’m done
I got booted off a private FB page for Saints fans.
Because I added a post that said
'Every single week, the club awards a Sainter of The Round award.
This is silly, because its like a primary school where awards are handed out just for turning up'

Yes Its very disappointing but I wont fold. Im used to the torture they call seasons but I hope for change.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sat 03 Apr 2021 7:43pm Come on boys yes it was pathetic probably the worst I've seen but if we all pull the pin then what do we have. We are our own worst enemy giving 5 year contracts to injury plagued player hoping for quick success will really hurt us in the long run & I think what we saw today is just a window of what's to come but you can't just jump ship we all need to hang tough it's just the role of a saints supporter never take anything for granted & be prepared to wait & from what I saw today it might be a long wait. But I'm a saint supporter always will be just have grin & bare it & hope for better outcomes than we saw today
Its hard to fathom how the club can just turn off like this.It makes it hard to believe when you see the players don't have the belief and worse, players always seem to be looking for answers from umpires when they need to discuss among themselves why they can deliver the hard work necessarry to get to finals..
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Re the OP, I think I’m done too! This is the first year in my cursed sainter life where I just haven’t given a s*** about the losses. I’m not feeling the hurt associated with your team getting smashed week in week out nor the anxiety of when we will turn the corner and ‘click’ as a team.
Honestly this is the first year I’ve just not been bothered by it and I think it is because I am just soooo f****** over it and sooo f****** used to it...I’m done.
Honestly I have better things to do in life

Re: I’m done
I cant watch the games live any more. I watch the games in replay because Im ECO. It just hurts too much watching this years version of the team, after getting our hopes up last year.
Covid allowing I had intended to travel down and watch a couple of games live, but couldnt stomach it now regardless as to how the rest of the season evolves. Supporting St Kilda is akin to standing by and watching your house burn down. Im at an a stage in life where I just cant invest that much into something that keeps breaking your heart!

Re: I’m done
Yeah oddly I've always found it easier (for lack of a better word) following the Saints when we've been no good and losses are expected, as opposed to years like 2008-2011 when it was super stressful every week as expectation was way higher.
Expectation was high going in to this year, but that has been quickly killed off, so even the last game I was just half watching it in the background after about quarter time, not paying too much attention.
So now when I see us playing the same old dumb football I'm just like "yep, seems about right" and I move on with my day pretty quickly after the game is over, not letting it affect my mood too much.

Re: I’m done
geesuz guys. feel like i just walked into a pallative ward for the terminally depressed.
we had a good year last year. footy life was good. this year it sucks a bit, easy come easy go. too many drank the kool aid perhaps - the hype was over the top pre-season. we'd scraped into the eight in a very abnormal shortened season. nothing before that suggested we were as good as the hype had us believing. right now we are in a terrible patch of form. it'll turn in a bit. I'm sticking with my seven-eight win prediction. too many had us as shoe ins, and now they're deflated. we're a side on the slow up, hitting a hiccup because of a freak season and the resultant horror draw, some really poor timed injuries to very important players, and what appears to be very poor season preparation. Now confidence is very low amongst the lads. Next season we'll have a nice draw (actually scratch that, we never do), relatively speaking anyway. King and Bytel will have developed, the lads will have stared into the abyss and come out again (hopefully), and our slow march toward consistent finals will be a step closer. cheer the heck up!

Ok, I had my dummy spit early in the season and have protected my mental health by giving up on the season but now we are back in lockdown I’m bored and am once again handing over my emotions and well-being to the saints. Hopefully we can finally click in 2021 and smash them

I got saved by the Storm last night where every player gives 100 percent without exception and they fought out a win despite being undermanned and not at their best

So when I started this thread like a big cry baby I decided to invest more heavily in the storm who give everything every time. Since then they/we have not lost, it has been absolutely incredible. I have come back to the saints but with a lack of enthusiasm and only got excitement out of Max King marching towards greatness. As much as I love the storm if the saints won 19 in a row I would be the happiest person in the world. I’ve concluded the passion, desperation and hope we have for the saints is irreplaceable. We are the shitest club to support but support I must

That's it I'm done with this season. After Sunday we're all cooked, won't win another game. Can't bear to watch anymore. Just fed up. F*** wasted so much energy I can't take it anymore. Time to rest and hibernate until next season where I'll go through it all over again and again the following season. Maybe I'll keep going until we win our second premiership and then maybe I'll give it up for good, but until then I'll keep going until I wear myself out.
