So, you would be happier if they were insipid tonight?

Billings might have done a bit more than Byrnes or Connolly

Was expecting a towelling and hugely
encouraged by the gutsy effort all over the ground. Shows how important Sincs has become. Coff looking absolutely silky. Loving Coops; so thrilled we are playing the kids. But every time Maxy takes a mark I almost weep. We are playing with such great confidence tonight; hope we can keep it up ️️

Pressure is fantastic and we've managed to shut Franklin out!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 21 2021
Well played Saints a big team effort.
We are beating them easy around the ground, just still getting spanked at centre clearances. We were able to hold them up coming out of defence and cause turnovers which has been brilliant.
Steel, Higgings, Marshall, Coffield, Highmore, Sinclair and Jones have been really good. Dunstan & Crouch need to lift in the middle to clamp down on there clearance ascendancy.

And 2 of Jack Higgins 3 goals have been on the left foot.
Such a weapon and advantage being able to kick both feet under pressure

Do , or Do not , There is no try.

How does the side drop to Carlton (who were shown up as pretenders today) and come out abs play like this today missing 5/6 of our best ?? (Ryder, Gresham, Patton, Clarke, Howard, Billings ) I know a long way to go but this club is just mental.

Great pressure in that half Saints.
Makes such a difference when tackles stick.

Max King only needs a yard to launch and he’s unstoppable massive weapon he’s given off 1 handball to set up a goal and brought the ball constantly to ground like what he’s doing

Kept them to one goal for the quarter and that should have been a 50 to Marshall.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 21 2021
We need more from Byrnes and Connoly. Byrnes started to get into tbe play towards the end of the 2nd. Sharman putting some effort in without tbe ball is helping and even laying tackles. Our backiline is working well, Highmore is one of the finds of the year. Kent and Higgins are probably out two best.
Higgins is a really, really good footballer, he's running all over the ground and is equally great defensively as he is weapon in front of goals.

Impressed with Sharman’s reading of the ball. Two great marks, really looks like a footballer.

12 possessions that quarter, 5 clearances 22 hit outs already.
He did make the one stuff up but he was huge that quarter. Heard them on TV just saying it's the biggest quarter possesions wise by any ruck this year

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 21 2021
Nice to read that Kent is doing well
Been a tough year for him with that long lay off post concussion. Hasn’t set the world alight so far this season and pbly lucky to be in the team tonight.
Glad he’s making the most of his opportunities.
For those watching... stats aren’t overly flattering on their own... 7 touches, 1 goal and a tackle. Someone posted that he should have had two... what’s he done to deserve the praise?

If ever there was a generous stat it's "goal assists". He's probably had "pressure acts" as well. Who knows?

Kids won’t do it every week not realistic to expect that abs tbh Connolly could probably use a spell if we had a seconds comp playingVortex wrote: ↑Sat 07 Aug 2021 10:04pm We need more from Byrnes and Connoly. If they get a few kicks in the second half that’s bonus - our mids out if centre need to lift imo Swans look really dangerous every bounce
