Yep. If they give Kent another contract they’re fools. Surely they won’t. So give Bytel a game.

Re: Team v Blues
Agree - when asked about Dunstans run of form ratts is really reluctant to sing his praise. Maybe reading into it but he seems very very subdued in his positivity if that makes sense?!..
Agree also Kent. Gives me shudders when he goes near it. Surely it’s worth playing a younger player who we want get time into even if they don’t perfectly fit the ‘role’ ?

Lol he doesn’t appear to be jumping out of his skin in his praise of Saints does he?Vazelos wrote: ↑Thu 29 Jul 2021 10:08pm Why is Bytel out?
I have a theory.
One of Billings Ross or Dunstan will leave.
Dunstan’s currency gone up they keep playing him to get a compensation end of year.
Bytel will play next year.
The dynamics between Dunstan/ manager and the coaching staff don’t look overly healthy.
Reserves coach for believing in him
Everyone else can get effed
I can understand if he feels like he’s been left out in the cold but we’ve also given him what 6/7 years of well paid service that one could argue til now he’s not really delivered on?
Bytel will surpass in time regardless
But playing Kent defies logic - is Dmac injured still ?? Rather him
“Yeah….nah””

Re: Team v Blues
Yes. When Dunstan was interviewed a week or two ago after a match by Channel 7 when he was best on field he looked really flat and clearly not happy. Certainly gone I would sayMC Gusto wrote: ↑Thu 29 Jul 2021 10:11pm Agree - when asked about Dunstans run of form ratts is really reluctant to sing his praise. Re: Team v Blues
Even that seems really baffling...
Me personally, I had Dunstan comfortably on the cut list 6 weeks ago... easiest decision for the year
The way he’s playing now... looks to me likes he’s surpassed a few higher profile, higher paid mids now. Why wouldn’t the coaches be singing his praises? Very weird.

Re: Team v Blues
I didn't.
I thought his kicking was ordinary in one of the early games, but he has just gone from strength to strength.
Do , or Do not , There is no try.

Disappointed clavarino didn’t get another game
As skeptic said, he did ok, surely a few games exposure will help him and we will find out once and for all

Re: Team v Blues
Maybe (IMHO) Ratts won't pump up Luke's tyres because Ratts believes Luke needs tough love, if he gets praise he'll become complacent and drop his standards?MC Gusto wrote: ↑Thu 29 Jul 2021 10:11pm Agree - when asked about Dunstans run of form ratts is really reluctant to sing his praise. Who knows. I might ask Thommo on twitter
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Team v Blues
Coffield should be worried. Connelly well in front and probably Clavarino a well.
Bytel needs more versitility. Crouch, Dunstan and Ross keeping him out.
Will miss the traditional Murphy / Carlisle niggle but Kent selected to give the defenders physical pain. Good tag team with Longy.
Hope Clark goes ok. Fearsome injury - Brave super healing come back.
Clav regular next yr. Progressing ok.
Makes for a fascinating contest.

It's quite bizarre because Carlton will have their tallest forward line for the year as they welcome back Curnow & McKay.

Kent being given every chance to audition for a new contract? That last mark he took was impressive, but not the kick, alas.

A certain poster might have a go at you for saying that. Well they would if it was me saying that.St Plugger wrote: ↑Thu 29 Jul 2021 7:54pm I must sound like a warn out record but how on earth does Kent get a game. I shudder every time he's near the play, let alone in the play.

Re: Team v Blues
Highmore certainly isn’t Darren Jarman by foot
But at least his hitting his foot now, because early doors it was coming off his shin!!!

Geezus, how many Darren Jarman's are there in the league?

Re: Team v Blues
Highmore had two shanks early in Cairns debacle. Conditions were crap, wet ball. poor lighting, slippery turf. He recovered from that well. But you know, you date one goat and what do people remember....
Incidentally he went on to play a damn good game.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

As long as Hunter does some heavy lifting. Our mids will earn their keep tonight if we are to win.
