There was also Peter Brown who who gave us great service.

There was also Neil Chandler in the 70's.

We were known as Carlton and Hawthorn seconds for a few years
We had a lot of Hawthorn rejects I remember Geoff Ablett ,Dean Anderson ,Russell Morris, Sean Ralphsmith, Chris Wittman, Mark Scott, Paul Harding, Lawrence Bingham, Ricky Nixon probably missed some but there was a lot
Big call stamping 230 gamer Geoff Ablett, Dean Anderson, Russell Morris and Paul Harding as rejects. Yes, Ablett was finished but the other three were good for us. Anderson 67 games and a board member, Morris 66 games an past players pres, Harding 62 games in 3 seasons as an undersized ruckman were all very good for the Saints.

And Mark Scott, part of the Russell Green deal, 34 games and 110 goals when the club was total crap was very undervalued. I remember him booting 9 against Carlton at Moorabbin in 1980 and we still copped a flogging. Naturally, as was the St Kilda way, we cleared him to Fitzroy.
When I say rejects I mean surplus to their needs at the time not what that they were sh-- through out their careers & I do apologise if that's how others interpreted it
No worries. Scott is an interesting case, he only played 3 games for the Hawks. These days you would call him a Jack Steele-like pick up. Our leading goal kicker for two of his three seasons with us when we couldn't buy a goal.
The VFL made us give him to Fitzroy if I remember correctly .
Really? How so?

Bloody hell! 16 and 16 ex Carlton…

We could have a exCarlton vs exHawthorn Saints intraclub match down at the Junction! Sounds like a good laugh…

Ted Nugent! I mean Glenn Nugent…he was a decent player for Hawthorn.. what happened?

Neil Chandler, six games in 1974!

Peter Brown 20 games in ‘81-‘82!

So that’s 19 on the list.

* denotes 1980s

Alex Jesaulenko*
Aaron Hamill
Wow Jones*
Peter McConville*
Alex Marcou*
Mark Arceni*
Ken Sheldon*
Spiro Kourkoumelis*
Ricky Nixon*
Mark Aitken*
Ian Muller*
Sam Rowe
Greg Sharpe
Micheal Jez
Peter Brown*
Neil Chandler
Peter Fitzpatrick*

And at least 12 in the 1980s!

OK that's 20 players!

This dude played for us in 1965.

I just read a quick blurb...my usual 15 seconds research that makes me an expert on all things. lol...

First thing I though was uh-oh!! Zac Jones!! Please no.

Comes to the club at 24/25...blistering pace and ...wait for it.....hammy problem!

Saints? Let's pick him!

Played 15 games and retired at 25/26 due to 'chronic hamstring issues'.....Please no...Zac..tell me you are not related to this guy!
