What has happened to Coffields kicking
2020 there were few players I was happier to see with the Sherrin.
He was lace outing targets at 45m
Now he struggles with the 20m chip passes.
He had a crack tonight but his kicking was deplorable, confidence seems to have evaporated

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
His kicking was a weapon last year. The way he could take the harder option to open up the game was a real point of difference, agree it’s confidence, look forward to it returning.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Sat 24 Jul 2021 11:37pm 2020 there were few players I was happier to see with the Sherrin.

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
Really is a mystery isn’t it…
Remember the kid in the final vs the Dogs last season that marked, saw his opponent in front of it and just decided to run around him… opponent chased, he applied the after burners easy as you like
Doesn’t look like he could do that now

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
I was sitting above a back pocket watching Coff kick towards a Sainter on the flank but the ball skewed towards the boundary. The entire bay 333 full of Sainters, gasped in shock
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
Totally out form no confidence & only playing because we don't have any other options . Needs to go back to the VFL when ever they get the go ahead & just get back to basics ATM deer in the head lightsWellardSaint wrote: ↑Sun 25 Jul 2021 1:21am I was sitting above a back pocket watching Coff kick towards a Sainter on the flank but the ball skewed towards the boundary. He’ll be fine. They take time. He hasn’t yet played 50 games and is still 21. We saw last season what he can do.

+1
Amazing how people love to board the negativity bus and pile in. He was injured wasn't he?
Think about it rationally. Even the most skillful players sometimes need to get some form back and consistency
6 weeks ago some people were calling Max King a spud
I see an issue of confidence with the drop in form with Nick Coffield and also with Ben Long.
It's up to the coaches and player leadership to show more trust in the whole group and especially the younger guys

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
Scollop by last years standards he has had a really poor year! IMO he lacks elite fitness and definitely looks slower this year, may be he has bulked up too much. He is also a kid that looks like he gets down on himself when he makes mistakes - lacking confidence.
You often read people believing he will become a wingman, but I doubt he will never have the running capacities for that position. HBF is his go and if we didnt have the injuries we have he would be playing with his brother at Sandringham.

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
Don't worry, Coff's just going through a bit of a form slump - I liken him to Jake Lever who had a similar experience after he crossed to the Demons from the Crows but is now a formidable defender turning back many attacks with strong intercept marking.
Nick Coffield will elevate his game in 2022 and become a mainstay of the Saints defence!!

Re: What has happened to Coffields kicking
Well for a start @ the moment he doesn't get the ball that often, so out of heat of battle kicking practice.
I recommend he start taking some of those commanding marks he use to regularly rather than hanging back, not all balls are going to spill a la Ryan's gift - which was apparently a piece of magic play on Ryan's part, not just fortuitous opportunistic bread and butter stuff, after actually misjudging the flight.
