You can blame set shots, umpiring or what ever you want but the bottom line IMO is they were harder for longer & that's why they won. We have been good for a few weeks but today was a reality check if you don't come to play you will get beaten . Too many non contributors total opposite to last week, it was hard to leave players out of the votes last week & this week hard to find players to vote for . Not the end of the world getting experience into some young players & finding out who is not up to it , disappointing for sure but not surprised
The issue with constantly missing set shots is it erodes the team confidence, and reward for effort. It a physiological downer that goes right through the team, its really deflating.
Yeah I agree, It's more complex than just the missing set shots. We were terrible most of the day at getting the footy into the hands of one of our forwads. Skunk and Kent couldn't hold their marks when they did get a chance and some of our kicks i50 were horrendous (Hi Dan Butler).
We had 10 inside 50's in the first 10 minutes of the last quarter and they only had 3. We kicked 1 goal 2 behinds with Georgiadis scoring a major for them. When you have to defend and you get an opportunity to move the footy forward and you rebound a few times and get it forward time and time again for little reward...that's deflating and exhausting physically as well as mentally

Our efficiency fwd entries is poor it tells you the forward line is not working
I hear Skrobo does forwards and Lade mids????
Time to go Skrobo if so
Lets hope there are changes with the Assistants at seasons end, because the lack of any system in the forward line has been telling all year.
I can't help but think there was too much detraction before the game with players getting themselves organised with their gear and families because of their fly-out after the game, and for the coaching staff adding to that is deciding the squad a week in advance re match-ups, and the emergencies etc. The team seemed out of sorts when the game started, not the focus we have seen in recent weeks.

Serious question... is the forward entries the fault of the forward coach or the midfield coach? Or both? Or neither and it falls on the players?
"It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress."
You can also add if they are working together by holding their structure, committing to leading patterns, blocking for each other & simply making themselves dangerous.
I'm not sure I've looked at our forward line and drew the observations above.
