Re: Rory Lobb
How would we get him ?
How would we pay him, he's still got 2 years left on his Freo contract, on about $700K a year according to speculators.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Rory Lobb
We'd be mad not to as he's an obvious target, I wonder if we have enough cash to snare him.

Re: Rory Lobb
An actual rumour, or just the post game discussion after the Freo Game last nigh that Lobb is the type of player that we need?

Re: Rory Lobb
I hope like hell the rumour has some truth to it. We desperately need a player like Lobb.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Sat 17 Jul 2021 4:14pm

We will continue to be a bottom 8 side without another key tall forward because King is a long way off it. And even if and when he develops we desperately need to fix our major structural weakness by having two permanent key tall forwards. Won't get close without it.

Re: Rory Lobb
KEY DOCKER YET TO OPEN TRADE TALKS
Fremantle utility Rory Lobb is yet to open talks with Victorian clubs about a potential move interstate, despite reports the 28-year-old was “open-minded” about a move at year’s end.
Lobb is contracted to the Dockers until the end of 2023, but an AFL Media report earlier this month said the former Giant was open to a move away from Perth.
Speaking on Fox Footy, Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph said neither Lobb nor his manager Colin Young had gotten the ball rolling on a potential move.
“He (Young) tells me that neither he or Lobb have spoken to a Victoria-based club and the expectation is that he is more likely to stay in Perth,” Ralph said.
“But, his partner who works in marketing does have a full-time job opportunity to work with former Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich at the Victorian Racing Club, which is certainly something that she is mulling over.
“He’s got two years left on a $700,000 deal. Young said it’s unlikely that he would move but he couldn’t categorically deny it.
“How’s this for a hypothetical trade: what if Paddy Ryder from St Kilda wanted to be closer to his family in Perth, what if Rory Lobb just lobbed to St Kilda? He’s 29 next year and would be a very handy replacement. That’s just a thought.”
Lobb suffered a potential syndesmosis injury during Thursday night’s loss to Geelong - a week after his imposing four-goal performance against Hawthorn.

Re: Rory Lobb
Would be behind Marshall and Ryder - but can’t see us going through all of next season without those guys spending some time on the sidelines. Plus if either King or Membrey get injured he is an adequate stop gap.
Helps draw a key tall away from King if they play together and can provide a chop out in the ruck.
Would love to see him in Saints colours next year, but Can’t see how we get him to the club. Firstly can’t afford him - and the asking price from Freo will be too high given how we got bent over the last time we dealt with Freo.

He is still contracted and injury prone so a big no thanks for me. Freo would want the earth for him similiar to Hill.

Crap player. Why bother.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
