Try standing under the ball and get shoved fair in the back as the ball arrives.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 18 2021
Yep this
Do r blame defence Ports game plan is clear: bomb clean ball into a tall forwards
In qtr1 we put pressure on them around the pa me snd win contested ball
That qtr we fell away badly so the movement in is far easier
FFS we need our mids abs rucks to start winning contested ball and to get it going our way

We got smashed in contested footy that quarter and they beat us on the spread. The stats don’t lie
Forget about the umpires. Port are working harder at the moment.

You’re in the wrong place, every free against St Kilda is wrong no matter how blatant, duh

This is why I like the idea of the other Crouch brother
In the past, we’ve had no answer for getting smashed in stoppages... let’s bring in someone that rarely loses them

Some people just need excuses.
St Kilda need to look in the mirror to see the problem.

Barely spotted Sinclair, missing his run and creativity from backline today

A lot of players down, seems like zero intensity out there.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Sat 17 Jul 2021 4:00pm Barely spotted Sinclair, missing his run and creativity from backline today

He got up rubbing the back of his neck after a contest at the end of that quarter, didn’t look bad tho?

Need a lift from a lot of players this second half. Really letting themselves (and us) down

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 18 2021
Beaten in the middle, beaten at stoppages. Port with a tall forward line have somehow stunted our run out of defence and through the middle.
To start / stop, no running in waves and no taking chances. Makes things easy for Ports defence.
Summed up that our only goal that quarter was a crumbed goal by our ruckman.

We wilted against Adelaide when Hunter Clark got poleaxed, hope we don't do the same now that DMac has gone down - if anything it should fire them up

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 18 2021
I dunno whether it is just the matchups but we seem to be outsized, in height and strength, at most contests around the ground. On ball we are OK, thanks to the Captain, but most of the rest are being pushed aside. Strength is their strong point so to speak. Can't beat them that way. Movement, run and carry is the only way.

That won’t mean squat if we get smashed in contested ball
+7 qtr 1 we dominate
~19 qtr 2 we get killed

Max King being totally outbodied by McKenzie - need to look at other options when kicking into F50

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 18 2021
It’s baffling when we have a mark on the edge of the centre square, and the player turns more than 90 degrees and kicks it to the boundary, where we are then hemmed in and can’t do anything.silverhalo wrote: ↑Sat 17 Jul 2021 4:10pmYep, need to be more daring - run, run, run and use the corridor as much as possibleperfectionist wrote: ↑Sat 17 Jul 2021 4:09pm I dunno whether it is just the matchups but we seem to be outsized, in height and strength, at most contests around the ground.
