I think it was ridiculous that we delisted him. Quick, tall, good overhead and dangerous around goals. Yet we kept Dean Kent and Jack Lonie.

Parker was far from being the finished product with us but he has a lot of potential.

Wish him all the best

I'm fine with Kent. He's not prefect but he played a pretty important role on Sat night against the Brions. Runs hard and creates pressure - doesn't die wondering. Lonie on the other hand - Jesus wept. Midget with no body mass which means he's unable to stick a tackle and do the pressure element of the small pressure forward. A credit to himself that he gets so many shots for goal but, his conversion is very poor for a pretty skilled player. Parker over Lonie all day; every day.

I'm not.
I agree with you re Lonie.
I see Kent as you see Lonie!
Both list cloggers and both need to go!

Parker had some flair and deserved a couple more seasons. Also designed our best indigenous guernsey.

Mason Wood and Ben Long offer more to the forward line than Lonie and Kent. A fuller list next year might also see Gresham squeezed back in there.

In the 2020 season the final against Dogs Kent played high on the wing - his body hits were awesome to "hear" especially against the bigger body dog forwards coming high up the ground for the link play
smart player
The trouble is (as a true forward) each & every one of the above listed 4 have their weaknesses

Could (& hopefully) Parker be THE answer as a forward addition

I thought we let Parker go to early as well but with a tight salary cap and possible lack of opportunities I understand.

Those that bag out Kent need to watch the blocking he does to allow King space from Andrews on Friday night. His big backside deliberately was placed in front of Andrews subtly a couple of times allowing King to get separation.

It’s not all about disposals. I feel he adds a lot to our forward structure

and that's the bottom line

He's got a few tricks but not a very well rounded player.

He probably would have done ok at Richmond over the last few years.

I can see him playing on the wing at Richmond, playing as a link, not as a defensive forward. If course Richmond would expect a commitment to full field defence but I think the time and space on a wing would suit him better.

I didn’t see the fuss re Parker tbh
Kent less so - yes blocks well also goes missing well abs not a good kick
Lonie - nuff said
This is the area of our list we can improve imo
No way Kent or Parker push a Long or Gresham from forward line next year

Kent was/is 'active' and 'busy', that's about the best I can notice. I also noticed his 'pass' into f50 in the 4th last week. (straight to an isolated Brisbane player)
Lonie can do some magic..stuff that Kent can't do...but it has been oh so not happening recently.

Parker is more rangy and loose. It looked like he was playing kick-to-kick in the park to me. Such was his freedom, I thought he wasn't playing to the 'structures'. Then, when he tried to, he was flattened and made mediocre. At least Kent understands the plan...or so I thought.

Both very limited value and really cost us. Overall, I liked Parker more.

Long is like Parker, but more experienced and perhaps more predictable..but he is like a landmine and just 'goes off'. But he's quick of touch. As is Kent. Kent does have quick hands. I'll give him that.

I think it is a waste to invest in Kent, but if he helps us snatch a win in this hour of need, so be it with pleasure. But if there be a star coming through, then move over.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Kent had 4 kicks, 1 handball, 0 marks and 0 tackles in that game.

Personally I think he has the least upside of just about anyone on our list. He is 27, can't get the ball, doesn't impact on the scoreboard and fumbles simple marks. An occasional good bump does not make up for his deficiencies.

Agree, I'd prefer Battle or Bytel to be getting that last spot on the bench.
Unless Kent is doing so much off the ball that we don't see.
In the Brisbane game he did some useful things including a very good pass into the F50, but still lucky to be playing this week. Hope he has a massive game vs Port

Kent is a forward

Bytel is a md

They pick 7 defenders, 7 forwards and 8 mids

I felt the same way about Brandon White

Come to think of it, I felt the same way about that other guy with a last name of White ….

….first name was Spencer (but the Saints fans called him Buddy  )

100% agreed with Brandon White, kid looked really good IMO and started well

My impression was that his attitude may have been suspect… feedback from ppl reporting to be in the know was that he wasn’t very well liked in the club

The other White looked promising too
It’s all in the era where these kids didn’t get selected whilst senior players that were playing poorly didn’t get dropped
Hated that time

Most of those players were not good enough to get a game

That simple

Parker overrated hardly got a kick, even in the twos
White was lazy and unfit, could kick and mark but not much else
Spencer was very ordinary- good athlete , poor footballer
Ended up in the WAFL reserves

Parker looks like he’s been decent tonight so far

9 touches to half time, 3 tackles

Just switching on now at half time
