You are a specimen. Sinclair can play in a variety of positions. It is that thinking that has Hind at Essendon & Lonie on our list.

Lonie is no good but clearly Sinclair has found his spot. Much better defensively than Hind.Ghost Like wrote: ↑Fri 25 Jun 2021 11:46pm You are a specimen. Sinclair can play in a variety of positions. It is that thinking that has Hind at Essendon & Lonie on our list.

Don’t think it would work.

That is the most fvcked up thinking I've heard when we are talking about a side that allegedly had too many HBFs before we count Sinclair & Hind.CURLY wrote: ↑Fri 25 Jun 2021 11:48pmLonie is no good but clearly Sinclair has found his spot. Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
Losing Hind has nothing to do with Jones & Hill.
Bruce can stay a dog, my bulldog mates think less of him than I do which says plenty.

If we didn’t recruit Hill. We would have kept hind.
Jones directly related to Bruce
Hill 900k Hind 300k
Bruce 600k Jones 500k
Treloar is getting paid about 400-500k by the dogs
Do the math

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
Didn't Hind and Hill play together? Didn't our geniuses only offer Hind a one year deal? Apparently our "math" works for one year deals.
I believe Bruce is on more than 600 a year. Remember he still had a year to go with us but signed with the dogs for the same coin on a longer contract. A deal I believe he'd agreed to before the season was out.
Our issue with not getting Treloar correlates more to Hannebery. Our hands are tied. The same reason we will not be able to make a genuine play for Kelly. That's if my "math" is correct.

If we didn’t recruit Hill in the first place on 900k
Would we have only offered Hind one season?
Would we have let Bruce go for pick 30 odd to relieve cap pressure
Yes, we shouldn’t have traded in Hannebery on that salary.

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
We are at least getting some return on Hill. Yes, I think we are paying overs in dollars plus throwing in Acres made no sense. That said, Hind was on our list and the reason he was only offered one year was because we only saw him as a small forward, nothing to do with money.
We did not let Bruce go to relieve cap pressure, we (rightly) did not want to give him the extended contract & the coin that the Bulldogs had offered him. Afterall we only get to play the Kangaroos once, maybe twice a season.
As I've mentioned in another thread, due to having to pay X amount of the salary cap we have many players getting paid overs. If you think we could not offer a 2nd year to Hind because of money there are more important people than me who can't do "math". We failed to recognise Hind's worth off half back, Essendon didn't.

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
They probably should have kept Hind but I don’t think Sinclair could have became this good playing anywhere else. Obviously, impossible to prove.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 26 Jun 2021 12:33amBoth would be pretty handyCURLY wrote: ↑Fri 25 Jun 2021 11:48pmLonie is no good but clearly Sinclair has found his spot. I haven’t watched that much of Hind since leaving. Is he that good?

TBH, I don’t watch them either. Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
When I was at school the teacher gave us figures, clearly marked on a sheet and with practice I was able to work out the answers.
900k here, 600k there 300k etc...all just guesses based on the likes of Damien Barrett and others like him. A few maths geniuses here on this forum for sure talking facts and figures someone plucked out their arse.

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
Let's put it this way, their run from half back has improved after Saad's defection. He's probably going ok.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sat 26 Jun 2021 3:51pmThey probably should have kept Hind but I don’t think Sinclair could have became this good playing anywhere else. Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
He can run straight ahead at the ball which has been said to be easier.
I’m just trying to rationalise it to make myself feel better because they probably effed up. I’m clearly not doing a good job.

Ex North Blow Harder and commentator David King ranks Hickey ahead of Buddy now.
He lists Hickey in his current Top Ten over 30 yr-old current AFL players…

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
is hind having a better season than sinclair. possibly. but not much in it.
haven't seen enough of him to base it on any more than a few games and their comparative stats for the season.

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
The metres gained is a big difference compounded by Sinclair often looking to find space for others with a short kick and Hill is quite often the beneficiary, then providing run and a another linking possession.desertsaint wrote: ↑Wed 30 Jun 2021 4:02pm is hind having a better season than sinclair. possibly. but not much in it.

We could have taken a risk on Hind and not gone for Hill. On age you might have taken that risk, on career stats, you would never have taken that risk.
Good on Hind though, he is having a ripper and made the best choice for himself.
