B.M wrote: Thu 24 Jun 2021 12:09am No, I just think you are wrong and you’re peddling lines.

I’m arguing the point

In my opinion he cleaned him up, and did a pretty good job of it… shown by the fact Hunter will miss 8-10

Accidental contact

Most times there is head high contact, it is normally accidental
People still get suspended

This was trial by media, as most cases are… there is always an agenda

Ask Steven Baker

He stopped in front of Jeff Farmer, Farmer ran into the back of his head and broke his nose, Baker wasn’t even facing Farmer
There was no conclusive footage
Farmer went into bat for Bakes

Guess what the outcome was?!
Really B.M.??? Tell me the lines I'm "paddling". To quote a poster, "What does that even mean?" Lines like "trial by media" & "ask Steven Baker"???

If you do not think I'm arguing the point then you are not reading what I've written, well certainly not understanding.

Do people get suspended everytime there's head high contact? Each case on its merit. Context.

Again, each time I answer your questions but you do not have the courtesy to acknowledge those answers. Instead you continue with your own thought bubbles as if they are the gospel according to St Mart.

The fact you have only thanked twice compared to being thanked 791 times says volumes.

As BL wrote, our opinions differ and it appears we will never get close to agreeing. I can live with that.

There were plenty in the media saying Mackay should have been suspended.

And no one has answered my question, if two blokes are going in hard for the ball and clash heads, both going off with concussion, should they then both get suspended?

It wasn’t a head clash

The point of his shoulder got Hunter in the head, after he turned his body and launch through the contest… both feet ending up off the ground.

I believe his objective was to collect Hunter whilst making a play for the ball. Because he was trying to impact the contest physically he missed the ball.

You didn't answer the question, it's a pretty simple one.

People have been suspended When they have elected to bump and a head clash causes a concussion

Personally, I don’t think that should be the case

Not only is that accidental, but the intent and technique was fine. Just the whiplash causes the heads to collide.

In MacKays case, it was poor technique that caused him to make contact with the head
He did well to turn side on - great technique
He didnt get low enough though

So you can't/won't answer the question?

Players get rubbed out for bumps because they have other options (play the ball, tackle) and elect to bump.

Mackay couldn't have elected to tackle because Clark never had the ball. He was trying to get the ball as clearly shown by his body language (arms out, not braced for a bump, feet on the ground). Both players got to the ball at the same time and collided, unfortunately for Clark he was a couple of inches lower than Mackay therefore getting hit high.

It’s not as though McKay looked at his head, aimed at his head and struck him in the head.

That would definitely be reportable.

Wouldn’t it?

That's Taylor Walker...

But that incident is worse than the Mackay - Clark one.
