The Hannebery 1-2 weeks is farcical. They must think we all live in a hammil fish bowl. He’s so cooked I actually legit fell for the retirement post
My tip for the next three
Weagles - with them till half time, outclassed from there
Richmond - with them till 3/4 time, 50-50 from there
Port - never in it
Best case 2-4 after 6, more likely 1-5

Re: 1, 2, 3........ . Everybody panic!
I agree.
Although the only thing I'm clinging to is our last two finals seasons...
2020 - After Round 3, 1-2, just been smashed by Collingwood.
2011 - After Round 3, 0-1-2, just been smashed by Essendon.
Also, last year, Richmond, Geelong, St Kilda, West Coast and Western Bulldogs all had just one win from three matches.
If only it was purely statistical and not the reality that was Saturday afternoon.

When I saw the topic I assumed it was BS, but as I clicked and saw the phoney linked, I just fell for it in the dull funk that we are all in.MC Gusto wrote: ↑Wed 07 Apr 2021 10:16am The Hannebery 1-2 weeks is farcical. I think we are also cooking under the heat as fans. And feel burned. Wait for the new skin to come up raw from underneath...and start hoping afresh.
Well smash the Eagles.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: 1, 2, 3........ . Everybody panic!
The ignorant whining. I'm not angry, just sick of hearing from self-confessed "experts" posting on impulse, changing their minds like the Melbourne weather.
Just two weeks ago our list management and recruiters were geniuses, our list so deep we knocked off GWS on their dung heap with 9 of our best players missing.
Fast forward just a fortnight. Now our list is shyte, Lethlean is overrated, our trading is poor, the sky is falling and 3 rounds in, our season is cooked, blah, blah, blah...............
Win this week and we're all back in Mensa.
On a brighter note, aisu, my membership pack arrived today. Hand delivered by Dan Hannebery and Aaron Hamill! They did message me two weeks ago and told me it was on its way.

He's left a huge hole down back- so big that the club uses DMack that's desperation.
Carlisle needs to rediscover his mojo, unless his back is wrecked. We're too short down back.
That's 2 hits.
Butler will be jaded (2018/19 he went cold at Tigers)
and he'll struggle to get over 8 touches in a game, as he's been worked out.
Zac Jones can't stay healthy.
Our midfield is one of the worst in the comp.
No way we finish above 12th this yr
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

They weren't AS bad but the 90's, 00's were pretty awful at times. We had some shocking wooden spoons. The Billings Method wrote: ↑Mon 05 Apr 2021 7:48pm We are out of the eight on percentage. It is round 3 in a 22 round season. We still have a number of best 22 players missing. Yes, we have list Paton and Gresham for the year. Bugger! We are due to regain Geary, our co-captain, Ryder, Marshall, Hannebery (2 weeks), Byrne's etc.
I always think back to the movie, "Bridge of Spies". As the captured Russian spy was resigned to his fate, his captor, played by Tom Hanks asked him why he, the spy, seemed untroubled and unworried by his impending fate, which was execution.
"Would it help?" The Russian spy asked his captor. We are in the same position as a footy club. We could panic, self destruct, as has been our Modus Operandi in the past. How about our players just get on with it?
How about we let them? They will. While I respect Tony 74 for his insights and itk info, I have grown tired of the incessant PR type spin. I know the players and staff are hurting. Let's see that hurt converted into effort. That's all I'm looking for.
We need 12 wins to make the finals. We're 1-2. Hardly season over. We will make it. Of that I'm sure. If we get to 3-4 or 4-4, realistic scenarios, we have a base to launch a finals and premiership campaign.
Chins up, especially for this of us who experienced the horrors of the 80s. We are well and truly in the game. Far from season over as some as have suggested. The return of Paddy and Marshall will be significant. Fortius Quo Fidelius.

I'm curious to follow this up. I thought the Essendon game was a turning point for our footy club, but others (like the above) couldn't have been more optimistic. The Billings Method wrote: ↑Mon 05 Apr 2021 7:48pm How about our players just get on with it?

When I walked out of Docklands that day, I texted a mate and said "We're cooked - that side has something deeply wrong with it".
I didn't have any confidence that these players had the will to turn the season around. Since that day, we've gone 4-6, and have never looked further away from success.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

The Melbourne loss was a major eye opener, and the Essendon loss was a season ender. After those two performances it was clear there was no way we were going to serious contend this year.

Re: 1, 2, 3........ . Everybody panic!
Prior to the Essendon train wreck, many, including myself thought we were still a top 4 capable side, then we got pumped by Port, Richmond and the Dogs, which while I'm at it, the Dogs game I think was the point where I was convinced something was drastically wrong within the playing group as there was clear evidence of the players having given up and not even trying to impact contests, like nearly the whole team.evertonfc wrote: ↑Thu 17 Jun 2021 10:17amI'm curious to follow this up. Curiosly against the backdrop of the debate created by Caro of the past few days, attitude is certainly not that of a list that believe they are a top 4 capable side. It doesn't matter what the reason, the commitment shown by our players versus that of a top 4 side is very contrasting. Generally players in top 4 sides don't chose to miss games.
