Re: Our first pick next year
I bet the King brothers are exchanging stories on Ratten and Dew and probably both concluding, F***, i thought the big league would be better than this.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Yeah, but they are StKilda born and bred, how about a bit of inspiration from Max to Ben saying we could lead this club to the promised land.
If Ben nominates us, we'll get the deal done.

Wouldn’t matter if you had plugger and Roo in the forward line if you don’t have a midfield that can get it down to them.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

We’ve done this to death ffsGhost Like wrote: ↑Sun 13 Jun 2021 1:20amI do know that B9798 but this belief we'd get a pick as high as 5 is misguided if everyone in the football world believes JB is as bad as his own "supporters" believe him to be.Banger9798 wrote: ↑Sun 13 Jun 2021 12:38am?Ghost Like wrote: ↑Sat 12 Jun 2021 11:42pmHow do people sh!t can a player yet expect the world for that player?Banger9798 wrote: ↑Fri 11 Jun 2021 11:47pm Would you trade Billings and our FRDP for Ben King and a second rounder?
I'd love to make a living producing turds and selling them as caviar, alas that is the world of the dreamers & the delusional. Good luck with that.
Where have I ever s*** on Jack Billings
If we end up with pick 4, he would potentially attract pick 5 as a Free Agency compensation pick....pick 4 & 5 for Bing and a second rounder is not remotely unreasonable.
I'm of the view that we get the best midfielder we can, and if we were to let JB go, get the next best midfielder with the compo pick, but the temptation to have the King Towers would also be huge, and the cost high.
I'd love the twin towers but we may need to get a bit more creative than trading Billings, a RFA. In my opinion we cannot win with JB as a RFA.
As god said recently....Billings will be worth what others who are in different circumstances to Saints will pay for him
It ain’t that bloody hard....

Re: Our first pick next year
Yes we have Teflon. I'm not sure if we are closer or further apart.
Neither of us will pay overs, you are 650, I'm 700. Not much when we look at the money blown elsewhere, Hannebery, Kent, McKenzie, Hill.
Whether it is 650 or 700 over 5 years at another club for a player with one Top 10 B&F would not generate a first round pick, likely a 2nd but no guarantees.
If a club does do the 800 a year, then it's compensation time, hopefully the AFL backroom boys are feeling generous.
Anything less than a first round pick is a bad deal for St Kilda.
Anything more than 700 is too much.
His value appears to fall in no man's land. Will be interesting to see how the Club and Jack call it.

Yeah second is probably unders but apparently the club want 2 first rounds this year.....they know we are very limited with A grade talent coming throughGhost Like wrote: ↑Mon 14 Jun 2021 2:38pm Yes we have Teflon. I'm not sure if we are closer or further apart.

My other concern is with our first pick (could be as high as 4 the way we are going..,) I just pray they don’t split again ...we need bona fide talent not speculative options that “may” make it abs you have a better chance getting that at the top end
No more HFF or HBF who “may” play mid one day...mid first who ideally has some run and carry uses it well and likes a goal ......Sonsie looks very attacking ...goes forward with some toe out of congestion...have heard Dal Santo comparisons but can go forward ....
