Higgins -Sainter of the Round
He beat Skunk, who got 2 votes
Skunk leads the club in goals this yr (not sure if he leads in behinds scored)
Higgins is 2nd with 17.
Coulda been clubhouse leader, but that's in another thread, yeah?

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
LOL - Head scratcher that one - sure he got to the right positions - got plenty of the ball - but to reward 1.6 makes me worry for our club.
Members does lead the goal kicking but is 18.18 even with that shocker Higgins is 17.13
I would have thought Steele or Crouch were more on track for what the club should stand for:
Particularly the tackles - 16 between them

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
Some commentators are calling him 'MIssy' which is a bit cruel, but kind of funny.
Although the club apparently doesn't see the funny side and has made a complaint.
It's been such a weird season of footy and about to get even weirder if Membrey, Gears, Ross and big Maxxy miss the Crows game.
I thought that might be a win for us but now not so sure. Who have we got to replace them?

Lol. I think it will stick. He’s a good player and will rise above it.

If Ratts reminds me of Benny Hill then Leftlean definitely reminds me of Jerry Lewis.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
It's the 'woke' brigade rewarding intent but not result.
Junior football, like under 9s, aren't allowed to keep track of goals because it's all about participation.
We're the same.
The club is foolish

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
I reckon Higgins has by and large been an excellent recruit.
Really like the kid. Hope he works on them set shots though

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
I've highlighted your comment re Higgins because I just want to add to it.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Mon 07 Jun 2021 5:11pm LOL - Head scratcher that one - sure he got to the right positions - got plenty of the ball - but to reward 1.6 makes me worry for our club.

I would have thought Steele or Crouch were more on track for what the club should stand for:Particularly the tackles - 16 between them
Player G B D K H M T CL MG GA's Jack Steele 1 0 31 18 13 5 9 8 467 0 Brad Crouch 0 0 38 14 24 5 7 7 302 1
Something that gets missed with Jack's misses is that he attempted a couple of ridiculous shots earlier in the game.
So once he had a few behinds mounting up on his total tally, he had started to create the pressure for himself.
Do the team thing always. All players need to be disciplined.
If he was disciplined and didn't attempt to score from impossible angles it might help the team and of course it will also take the pressure off himself
I also think Steele and Crouch performed their roles better. I agree with everything you've said and others who are rightly criticising the club.

St Kilda - Rewarding mediocrity
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

He's been good and will be better. But as said, you dont reward a forward for 1-6.

The Club didn't award him Sainter of the Round, members did. Accuracy aside, he was a shining light in the forward line and played his guts out.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Mon 07 Jun 2021 10:20pmIt's the 'woke' brigade rewarding intent but not result.

Re: Higgins -Sainter of the Round
Embarrassing.
Surely those voting for him were taking the piss?
Did they also vote Seb for best goal of the day attempt?

Yep unsure how this changes anything. Doubt he receives anything other than some little trophy.
