Hunter Clark
Hopeless this afternoon.
Hardly got the ball, and did nothing with it - He's a better player than that.
Should he have played??? Notice that King was listed with a back injury, should he have played???
Injuries occur, but we don't manage them. I'd much rather beat Adelaide next week (a winnable game), than against the Swans.
Stop playing injured players - our Season is over.
Get some decent fitness staff in and build for 2022.

Re: Hunter Clark
If Hunter is fit, then he does a very good imitation of someone who isn't.
But yesterday's game was more about what was going on above his shoulders rather than below. He "looks" like a player who is disinterested in the game. Only he will know whether such "looks" are deceptive or not.
One thing is clear about competitive sport at this level - unless there is 100% commitment to purpose, then failure will follow.

Re: Hunter Clark
Yet another player who with the natural arc of his career should have improved a lot this year but has actually gotten worse.
Can anyone name a Saints player that has improved this season?

Gave us nothing last season.

Re: Hunter Clark
I only listened to the game so I thought he must've had a lock down job on someone, but after watching the replay I'm still not sure whether he has an injury or just had one of those games.

Good post. King and Hunter both injured and neither should have been playing.oboe wrote: ↑Sun 06 Jun 2021 2:00am Hopeless this afternoon.

Yep. Sinclair and Steele for starters.carn_sainter wrote: ↑Sun 06 Jun 2021 11:35am Yet another player who with the natural arc of his career should have improved a lot this year but has actually gotten worse.

Byrne and Bytel are also better than last year.

Re: Hunter Clark
Steele
He won the B&F by 60 votes last season and was third in the Brownlow and an AA
What is he this year Superman
He hasn’t improved, he’s maintained his output
Sincs and Ross are having better years than 2020

Re: Hunter Clark
Byrnes is in his second year? Third? Hardly a sign of good development or a good football program that he has improved.
Sinclair is therefore really perhaps the only player who is playing better this year than last...this is what worries me systemically about the club. Not so much the results, the lack of improvement.

Re: Hunter Clark
Often players improve purely because of opportunity to play a certain position.
Sincs was very good on a wing in 2017
Went to HF for the next few years and was less effective
Went to HB this season and is performing well in that role.
Some players
Improvement is natural progression as they mature
For whatever reason, we give the coach far to much credit for improvement of players. Often it’s the player themselves or the development coaches that are responsible
