Crouch 38 touches (@79% efficiency), 14 contested, 7 clearances.
Has been a great pick up, as has Higgins despite his kicking today.

Ii still think we are marking the recruiters hard, they have brought 7 good to very good players into the club in the last 2 years

Yes but Hannebery is their albatross. Unfortunately for Hill, his recruitment, salary and contract has intensified the spotlight.

Yeah but we thought Hill was a great pick up at the time.
Everyone did.

At least Hill has the body and courage to get on the ground. We need to find others with the courage to put their best up against the rest. If we have that now, we are royally...

Every AFL player is handy when they play their best footy. The best AFL players are the ones who play close to that more often than not.

Marshall CHF / gun ruck

Jones midfield

Gresham forward mid

Paton best shut down small defender

Carlisle. Intercept Mark CHB

All unavailable against a AFL propt up full strength Sydney at the SCG. Great effort to be honest.

Missing Carlisle was not our problem. Howard, Wilkie, Webster, Clavarino did enough. Our mids & forwards lost this game.

Marshall is basically our most important player. CHF that takes the heat of King and Membrey.

Lots of young players for Sydney did very well yesterday, compared to promising players in Byrnes and Clav who had little influence.

Byrnes 13 and two goals while Clav in game two was reasonable. The Swans were at full strength their structure was not effected in any way. A lot easier to play a role.

Sorry Curly, that's too simple and lets too many off the hook. I do agree that Marshall is extremely important but the others need to be better, not reliant on one.

I’m sure they do have to be better that’s all good. The issue is we are severely depleted due to injury and one of them happens to be our most important structural player.

So that lets players who should be able to hold their spots on their merit off the hook?

Again, too simplistic for mine. All teams at this stage of a season have injuries to important players, it is the good teams that step up and overcome them that play finals or at least win games.

Not all teams have injuries to key personal which is our issue as we have a second year forward to make matters worse. If King was out and Marshall was playing the structure would be far more sustainable.

Such a cop out for those selected. Sydney are on a par with us, we came up short. Collingwood are on a par with Adelaide and were missing some genuine talent, yet won. Do not give those who played and lost yesterday an easy out.

Yes that happens what’s your point. Collingwood won on the back of a 28 year old. Our equivalent is 21 in Higgins. Collingwoods starting forward line was complete. They also didn’t lose a player in the first quarter.

Also Sydney were at full strength.

If you cannot work out my point then stop replying. Grundy??? Adams??? Howe??? All missing. Adelaide at full strength. Yet Collingwood persevered and won. That is about the players who pulled on the jumper yesterday and played winning football, unlike those who pulled on the St Kilda jumper. They need to be better, not have better excuses.

Adelaide missing Milera Brown Talia Crouch. Plus Walker had a shocker in front of goal.

So??? Is that an excuse? Does that let them off the hook? I could have named all of Collingwood's missing but the point was to name Grundy, surely a more structurally important player to Collingwood than Marshall is to us but they found a way to win. We didn’t and we should have. Yesterday's loss is the hardest to take of all our losses this year.

Why is Grundy more important than Marshall? Marshall plays CHF then rucks I’d say that’s important.

OK Curly, you're right. Grundy is dispensable. Whilst St Kilda doesn't have Marshall, all our players get a free pass and we should not expect to win a game.

Good plan, our coaches, our recruiters and our players will be so relieved that the pressure is off whilst Marshall doesn't play.
