Don't want to join with anyone and get some premierships added to our history.

Would rather cease to exist and be some quirky trivia in the future like University.

What’s the plan ?

The Tassie Saints ?
60,000 capacity stadium with a roof in Hobart ?
30,000 capacity stadium in Launceston to play non Victorian clubs ?
Wipe our debt ?
Bank account of $50 million ?
5 “top 10” draft picks for the next 2 drafts ?
100% access to all Tassie footballers ?
AFL subsidised free agents for 2 years ?
AFL funded academies in Hobart, Launcestion, Devonport, Burnie & Ulverstone ?
11 games in Tassie ?
6 - 7 games in Melbourne ?
4 - 5 games in other state ?
Discounted flights to Tassie ?

Having been an old Fitzroy supporter and being at their last Melb game I can tell you re-location is a sell out.
Yes Lions won flags 3 pears blah blah but they weren’t and aren’t Fitzroy - the colours not even the same.
Fitzroy is dead St Kilda would be too and a new version would be as soul-less as Gold Coast and GWS

The AFL would have to F*** the Saints off and then create a new team in Tassie, then I could become a footy supporter with no alliance = no disappointment.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Don’t be ridiculous. We are going nowhere. Well stay at Moorabin, even though it is a bit of a dull suburban nowhere land, until we can get the Junction Oval back...
Then we will win four flags.

Right now I say yes to put all of us out of our misery, because I won't be following them.

The sad reality is that we're in all sorts financially, relying heavily on the AFL's drip feed, and our admin gambled and lost.

Can we survive another five years?

Exactly. No such thing as "relocation". It's a death sentence.

If the Saints go, AFL is dead to me. Well, the AFL has been dead to me since Sirengate and Whispers. Franchise teams. Greed. Can't stand the corruption. Softening the sport into netball....
I only love the Saints. But the sport will be dead to me. I grew up with Plugger and the greats of the 90s, the sport has been sh*thouse for the last 15 years.

Ditto, ditto, yes, exactly....

The club folds...that’s it.

The only relocation I accept is to come to Japan...and sod that too.

Fitzroy is dead. RIP lions.

South Melbourne is dead. RIP South.

I was in Launceston last week and went along to the Hawks Norf game for a half....great place to watch footy.
I'd go to 2 or 3 games a year

And what the hell do we do with Moorabbin

40M has just been spent on it!

The Brisbane thing is a merger, so not comparable
They have a different jumper and twin histories

Sydney was a relocation and is far more comparable

Same jumper, same history
Just in 1982 they moved to Sydney

They tap into the old STH Melbourne bloods as part of their history and culture - even today!

Supporters continued to follow them

Not at all.

100%

This is about survival...long term..after we are gone.

St Kilda might not last at Moorabbin. Tasmania...etc.

St Kilda will last at St Kilda.

Re the OP potentially a relocation and rename (tassie saints) with mega incentives is the only way we break the curse…?

Must admit I’ve given up caring. It’s sad to say but the 100 point losses simply glaze over these days. What more would
I expect from the club that has forever let me down in my 42 years as a supporter??!

You haven’t given up caring.
You still care.
The club is still alive.

We don’t go to Tasmania. We die. It’s over. The curse is over, yes.

Tasmanian Saints are bulls***t

Of course what ever ‘club’ they manufacture in St Kildas colours may win ten flags.it’S all BS

Brisbane’s flags are cool for Brisbane and Queenslanders and congrats and all...good luck. But they are meaningless to the legacy of the Fitzroy football club. They are an insult.

Maybe right about Brisbane as it was an amalgamation of the Lions and Bears.
What about Sydney?
Do you think the old Swan supporters embraced the Sydney swans flags?
I'd say yes and this is a closer comparison than that of Brisbane.

In the sense that a prisoner of war, old and wearied, embraces a bowl of breadcrumbs, maybe..

How many young organic South Melbourne/Sydney supporters are there? There are some elderly people with fond memories that embrace a bit of attention if the media comes knocking on the door...how quaint! Sentimentality and all that BS! That’s about it..

Actually, South’s demise only makes me think the Junction Oval is even more important for us, and I bet a good deal of those inner urban types in Middle Park, Albert Park, Port Melbourne etc would embrace a lovely ride on the light rail down to the junction for a game followed by a night in St Kilda...
