Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 9 2021
I have absolutely none of the feelings tonight like I did after the Essendon game.
That team tonight could beat any team in the comp. We were really good for most of the game. We actually dominated the first half in every single aspect aside from our attacking execution.
The attacking errors felt like something that only occur in 1/100 games. They were bizarre and frustrating but I still think we were the better team and on another night we could have absolutely flogged that team -- many Geelong players in interviews after the game said basically the same thing.
Actually proud of the effort tonight and as others have said on another night we're five up by qtr time and trounce those bastards.
Well done Saints.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

I said before the game I would be happy with an honourable loss but now I'm gutted because that was a game we should have won & we didn't

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 9 2021
I’m genuinely concerned for King
No club puts immediate pressure on a young player like us
We have zero credible support options around him like Riewoldt had
He looked devoid of confidence tonight I was watching him go back for that late 20 meter sitter and he looked like he didn’t want to kick it
I hope we don’t destroy the kid
He’s 21 played 23 games
Let’s not forget against an experienced defensive unit tonight he dominated the air with 10 marks 4 contest 1.5
If he kicks 5.1 he’s BOG by a mile tonight
Hope the club get him support for his kicking and his confidence

How did they win when our backline beat their forwards all night?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 9 2021
I was at the game last night and just watching the replay.
The 20 minute introduction to the match on channel 7 was a disgrace. You would think only one team playing. Just a 20 minute love affair with Geelong and Selwood.
St Kilda hardly mentioned. Totally unbalanced. I will watch the game replay with interest if the biased commentary continues.

Funny you say that. Criticising frees given against Geelong were constant. Silence the other way. Slight comments occasionally when blatant crap decisions were given against usStPeter wrote: ↑Sat 15 May 2021 7:04pm I was at the game last night and just watching the replay.

Glad to hear that the game commentary was less biased. I was talking about the lead in introduction to the match before it started. The Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 15 May 2021 7:44pmFunny you say that. 20 minutes of promoting Geelong and Selwood with barely a mention of St KIlda.

20 minutes of promoting Geelong and Selwood with barely a mention of St KIlda. Not impressed with it being our first Friday night game for sometime.
