Re: Dogs game
It is a Dog's Home Game.
It is a make up game for us....which means that we are only getting the left-overs after Dog's Members have had first choice.
Plus being at Marvel there will be less seats. Normally they have the "make-up" game at the MCG as it is much larger capacity.
With the Pies being down on form with lower attendances they should have chosen playing the Pies at the MCG.

Re: Dogs game
They don’t want people to book.
Costs them money
Big money if our members go
Like if we use our home and away membership with away games
Always been like this ...the club sees members actually going to games as an inconvenience and annoyance”

This is the replacement for the ""China"" Port Game except we are now playing the Crows in Cairns and not Port. I have no idea why or what $$$ we get from it. Maybe Qld Tourism is chipping in?

Re: Dogs game
Absolute fvcking bulls***. All tickets gone.
Fvcking home game in Cairns and can't get a ticket to the replacement game. Anywhere in the fvcking stadium. And yet - there'll be lucky to be 35K there.
I'm presume the club wouldn't possibly consider giving members (who donated their hard earned fvcking cash last year) a refund?
And also - who checks their fvcking emails at 9.23pm at night (when the replacement game was announced)? Absolute fvcking amateur hour morons.
Go fvck yourself @ St KIldaFC.

Re: Dogs game
How much to charter a supporters plane to Cairns. Must be a few 737s sitting idle. Of course Cazaly's is no Marvel, we would probably have to stand in the outer. Like good old days.

Myself and my Son have to sit together (he has autism). A number of single seats around but not two together. And I was online at 10.10am this morning. You're one of the loyal ones who stuck with them thru Covid, and the club is proudly singing the 'record membership number' song, and this is how they reward your loyalty?Saintmatt wrote: ↑Wed 12 May 2021 4:36pmMyself and my Son have to sit together (he has autism). It bloody sucks, what a horrible way to treat hard-working supporters.
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Dogs game
Questions
1) Why were these tickets on sale 10 days before the game when normally it is on the Tuesday before a game (typically 4 days before)?
2) Why was the email only sent out at 10pm on the night before the window?
3) Why was the window only open for 2 hours in the morning when you normally get a full day?
4) If it is a "home" game then surely members should be able to book L3 tickets until it is a sellout?
Like (i'm betting) many other supporters I was busy this morning and only noticed the email at lunchtime by which time the window seemed closed.
I am hoping that as per Q4) free GA L3 tickets will be available to our members at some stage later this week or next week.
If not then it is a total f'ing rip off and totally NOT a make-up game.

If you're a 16 game member, bookings are now open. Just secured my ticket.

Re: Dogs game
I think the administration might be a sleepy hollow. I have my doubts as to how well game days are run.
I have been trying since February to organise a corporate package for the Cairns game. With the need to send guest invites to different states we needed to lock in a package as early as possible so invitees could organise flights and accommodation etc. After much proding to highlight the importance of locking in plans early I only received an email from the club on May 10 to advise the "process was difficult" and "it shouldn't be too long before this is sorted".
I still haven't heard from the club since the May 10 email.
I hope my experience with trying to provide revenue to the club isn't an example of how the wider club is currently being managed.
Suffice to say we have had to abort plans for the corporate package.

Re: Dogs game
You know Vortex the slack administration has probably saved you from yourself. Now a corporate package to the Gold Coast, that would be something you would get goodwill from.....( cheery words from former member of Cazaly's and long time patron)

Re: Dogs game
That is concerning SP. I must say it has puzzled me as to why the club is claiming the process is "difficult". The COVID excuse has been thrown out by someone we contacted directly at Cazaly's and also that the AFL were somehow making the process more difficult because of COVID but I don't understand why. If I'm guessing, is it because staff numbers have been stripped so hard that they don't have the resources to organise a p!ss up in a brewery. I've got nothing.SaintPav wrote: ↑Wed 19 May 2021 6:45pmFrom experience, f***wit central down there.Vortex wrote: ↑Wed 19 May 2021 11:36am I think the administration might be a sleepy hollow. Re: Dogs game
I am not a member being O/S but from reading your stories i am appalled.
That Vortex gets told ’It's difficult’, is so unprofessional..and that as Enrico says, the window opens and closes less than twelve hours after a late night email that they absolutely know many will not see until sometime the following day - amateur central.
I am sure its COVID related chaos and all.. but very disappointing for you..

Re: Dogs game
Another interesting aspect to the Cairns game is the large subsidy being paid to the club by the Cairns City Council and Tourism Queensland (a Queensland State funded department). The subsidy was the asking price by the club as a replacement for the $1 million lost on the China contract.
I'm assuming Cairns City Council and Queensland tourism will be expecting some ROI for their investment in the form of interstate travellers wanting to attend the Saints V Crows and then stay a little longer to take a holiday in the area.
Time will tell if the tax payers up there can expect a return on their investment, I have my doubts but at the end of the day the club will walk away with a bag of cash and I suspect it won't be from game day revenue.
