Nathan Freeman
Have heard we are into him for the mid season draft. Have kept a close eye on him and are super impressed with his form.

Re: Nathan Freeman
Interesting.
There was article in The Age last week that suggested he had no intention of returing to AFL level and was enjoying being a player manager and running around at Frankston.

Re: Nathan Freeman
Very interesting Curly
I hear he’s averaging 40-odd possessions a week for the Dolphins.

Re: Nathan Freeman
What position does he play?
How's his speed? What's his kicking like?

Re: Nathan Freeman
I remember that I heard an interview this season with Freeza where he was a bit evasive about getting drafted, but didn't really say no.

No thanks. Only one thing is worse than making a mistake, making that same mistake again.
Move on, draft some kids, this is a great opportunity.

I would have to agree with you. We will never have the chance to draft 4 talented kids at the one time ever again.

Re: Nathan Freeman
Which is exactly what he now is. Nathan was not being anything other than truthful in saying that. I've heard him speak since his time finished at the Saints and he knows that he was cooked - he'd lost his main attribute which was burst speed from the contest. Whatever he shows playing for the Dolphins is a million miles away from what's required at the next level up. I can't think for the life of me that a bloke with shredded hammies would be coping too well right now with games that often run 4 x 35 min quarters.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Mon 10 May 2021 4:10pmRefers to himself as an inside plodder.

Re: Nathan Freeman
Tom Lee is tearing it up in the WAFL too and considering a third tilt at an AWFL career!
In case you're wondering AWFL isn't a typo it's shorthand for AWFUL and not disparaging AFLW.

Re: Nathan Freeman
I watched his latest game the Frankston v Williamstown today. He was tagged he is going that well. I dont know what his speed was like before his injuries but seems to be moving really well and he is not Dunstan slow. He has developed other parts of his game well, his kicking and quick hands were excellent and are a real weapon now.
He is a quality individual and is averaging 40 disposals a game, which is finding team mates with most. His body is obviously sound now, hence I wouldn't be against giving him another go if he has the drive to do it.

Re: Nathan Freeman
This kid is the only other I am aware of pumping out stats like Freeman.
Marcus Lentini one of the highest possession winners in the VFL since leaving the TAC Cup.

Re: Nathan Freeman
Absolutely bonkers to nurse the kid for three years and then delist him as soon as he gets a game.
But hey, that's the clown show for you.

Totally agree. If he was a unknown performing like that we’d all be hoping we’d beat everyone to him.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Nathan Freeman
Is anyone going around in the state leagues that is doing any better than Freeman, I wonder? If not, he’s probably worth a look.
On the mid-season draft, I also wonder if there are any mature-bodied ruckmen worth a punt. We don’t appear to be able to cover Ryder/Marshall structurally with existing personnel.

Re: Nathan Freeman
We DON'T NEED another mid.
Need a ruck back-up quick smart.
Roma is having plantar fascia issues, and it's not good to push him too hard until it's resolved. Remember Luke Ball and osteitis pubis?
Ryder isn't young, we don't know how long he has left.
The Paul Hunter/Shaun McKernan experiment hasn't worked.
We need a decent back-up ruck who can at least compete, giving Roma time to rest in the F50.
