Ladder Position- 11th
Crows and Blues are below us, each with much higher percentages.
Crows at the moment are behind Power, who should comfortably beat the Crows.
Blues are playing the Doggies tomorrow, so let's all hope the Doggies win, as they should.
We'll remain 11th until we meet those cheating Pussies on Friday night
We could stay 11th even if we lose to the pussies, until Rd 10, when Hawks play the Blues.
If Hawks beat Blues, we drop one spot

Can we win 3 of the next 5?

Cats- umm no
Dogs- see above
Hobart Roos- of course we should monster them, but the Saints being the Saints, could drop it
Swans- bloody hope so, if we play with proper intensity and purpose, yeah
Crows- at Cazaly Stadium in QLD, where the bloody hell are ya? 100 % will win this

Can't see us beating Cats, but we take on the Dogs off an extra days rest than them after they travel interstate. We shouldn't fear them after winning that final. They are beatable.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 9:50pmCats- umm no

Can't see us winning any of the next two at this stage but you never know. It would be great to win one but I don't love our chances.
Swans will be tough.
I'd take being 7-6 after round 13.

Agree. I think we gave a better chance of beating the dogs than the cats.lewdogs wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 9:59pmCan't see us beating Cats, but we take on the Dogs off an extra days rest than them after they travel interstate. Crows are now about 5% above us, they're currently 6 goals down to Power with 6 mins to go

Re: Ladder Position- 11th
If we were to get 3 of 5 that would be a good result. Swans playing some good footy, perhaps depends if it s Buddy's week on or off.
Geelong - Still think will choke in Sept but very impressive
WB - Best midfield in comp and main way to beat them is seperate defenders into one on one, we would need significant improvement in our forward line structure and discipline as well as mid field break even for this to happen
North - Banana skin game - Could easily roll up at Hobart 8 degrees , blowing a gale , rain and North get their first win, or could get a comfortable 5 gaol win.
Swans -
Adelaide - Would hope a win, but at least being the AFL being our pimp we are only being sent to Cairns as opposed to China - so that in itself is a win.

Can't see us beating Geelong on current form, Bulldogs IMO is winnable but will take our best effort, North danger game they are playing better footy & we don't play well in Tassie, Sydney same as Bulldogs & Adelaide is one we should win .Realistically we can win them all but IMO we will probably win 2 or 3

Re: Ladder Position- 11th
We'll need a Frawley or Carlise next week. I'll assume Joyce comes out. With Paddy in form, I give us a small chance to beat their midfield but we'll have to play out of our skins.
Can we kick enough goals though? Must, must, must keep Stewart accountable. Do not kick it anywhere near his vacinity. He killed us with intercept marks last few times we've played them.

Re: Ladder Position- 11th
I think 11th is about were we will finish.
The teams in the 8 are all playing good footy .
I don't know if any would dramatically lose form and drop out .
The tigers are a bit up and down but there class should see them make it.
The swans are young so they may drop out
But we will have to improve our consistency greatly to become a serious finals contender.

We play North at Docklands here - it's our home game. But yes, North are a dangerous opponent for us - right up there with Port and Geelong. We just never seem to beat them anywhere.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sun 09 May 2021 11:24am Can't see us beating Geelong on current form, Bulldogs IMO is winnable but will take our best effort, North danger game they are playing better footy & we don't play well in Tassie, Sydney same as Bulldogs & Adelaide is one we should win .Realistically we can win them all but IMO we will probably win 2 or 3

Doesn't matter where we play them. They have been schooling us everywhere since 1973.PremiershipSaint wrote: ↑Sun 09 May 2021 12:45pmolder saint wrote: ↑Sun 09 May 2021 10:26am North - Banana skin game - Could easily roll up at Hobart 8 degrees , blowing a gale , rain and North get their first win, or could get a comfortable 5 gaol win.Good thing we aren't playing them in Tassie then.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sun 09 May 2021 11:24am North danger game they are playing better footy & we don't play well in Tassie

Interesting to see what kind of mess West Coast will make if Hawthorn today...
Might give us a clue about our own ‘real’ place in the scheme of things..

Re: Ladder Position- 11th
Geelong have troubled us since the Ross Lyons days.
Geelong loss 75pts
WB loss 30pts
North win 35pts
Sydney 50/50 win
Adelaide win 25pts
Even after yesterdays win I think we are a long way off being a top 8 side. I just did the ladder predicter and believe we finish anywhere from 9 -11th on the ladder. Looks like we will finish at least two games outside the top eight.
The significant thing Ratten and his fitness coaches need to address going into next year is our inability to run out games. The extra game lengths has really exposed a weak under belly in our list.
With our list we may take another step back in 2022 before we play finals again. I just dont see significant improvement in the current list to leap frog us back into finals contention.

Shows the psychey of a St Kilda supporter when people doubt we can beat the Kangaroos.
I hope our coaches aren't prepping their minds in the mould of our supporters.
