Not sure I can watch us play GCS anymore. Too stressful! ️️
I’ll take a win any way we can get it. Paddy and Crouch goals were enormous.

Spot on Super Duper. A deserved win. The best feature is that in the last quarter 21 players contributed ( sorry Mason Wood ) .SuperDuper wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:19pmI dont think it was lucky. We were the better team for the last 3 quarters. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of Saints losses over the decades . I have many times seen them throw in the towel. Today they did not chuck it in, they dug deep, and got up.
I will worry about next week , next week. Right now, we are winners, and with any luck the Pies will lose and be in complete disarray. Happy days !

His lack of speed is evident when chasing defenders, as you say.shadrock wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:24pm Still feel that whilst Hunter Clark is seen as calm and composed with the ball, hes often way too slow when hes chasing the defender. Im not sure if its that he simply doesnt have the tank for it, or is not a fast runner, or just doesnt try? But his lack of speed is noticeable when he doesn't have the ball. Will stop him from becoming elite in this league.
I think Clark would prove more valuable as a half forward flanker (between wing and half-forward) ... kicking the ball to our forwards, using his footskills.
Our forward entries need to improve - he could help?

I'm not saying he should be out just simply a couple of clangers today hurt us badly in the first 3 quarters.SemperFidelis wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:32pmMe too. Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 8 2021
Agreed, clearly the better team. Was more talking about the wasted scoring opportunities (from both sides). We can't do that against a decent team and expect to win.SuperDuper wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:19pmI dont think it was lucky. We were the better team for the last 3 quarters. In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

There were some pretty disgusting posts in the match thread but I was talking about the football hitting the woodwork.

Pretty hard to go north and come away with the 4pts - we dug deep and found a way to win
We had butter fingers all day so I wonder if humidity played its part - they said it was 26 degrees

Must be a rollercoaster for the Pav’s, going from game/season over to a ‘never in doubt’ win within half an hour!

Like those declaring ‘game over’ in the third quarter?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 8 2021
Mason Wood, Chips Frawley & Slips through his fingers all recruited this season.
Chips is cooked or close to it, the other two were D grade at their best.
Horrendous recruiting this year, hope we have learnt our lesson come the mid season draft.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 8 2021
never in doubt.
was a very hot sun in the first quarter. but a dry heat. i expected them to come out a bit lazy in that. cooled down nicely after half time. never felt it in doubt if we could just get the ball rolling our way in the last. one thing that stood out at the game was our forwards do not lead - no wonder our inside entries are generally bombs. i don't know if that's the plan, but what else could it be given it's been an issue all year?

Remember when you said the endless bickering you constantly engage in wasn't actually your fault it was the fault of the other kid who did it first?The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 7:34pmIt’s ok, I understand, you had to try get that egg off your face somehowSaintPav wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 7:32pmWell, it's not my fault you can't sense sarcasm/humour and many others agree with me on how you come across.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 7:16pmIt is thanks, kids and not letting the Saints dictate my mood help with that!SaintPav wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:30pmLife must be a real hoot in the dud household.The_Dud wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:24pmYep, we were the least bad team out there todaySainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sat 08 May 2021 5:22pm We get the four points - but seriously - it feels like having spent the last 2 1/2 hours dancing with a relative.

Weirdly enough you're still constantly bickering with people with or without Curly involved.
Maybe you're the problem? Crazy thought I know but the one constant in all of this is you.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Like I said before, and you complain about Curly.
You should look at yourself first.
