Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
I read that last night.
Felt like the strange ramblings of a desperate politician or some corporate mouthpiece.
Never trust people who bandy about nonsensical neologisms.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
Speaking of the scoreboard, our last 4 second quarters have produced totals of...
1.2.8
1.3.9
1.1.7
1.1.7
We have conceded 122 points across those same 4 quarters.

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
Jesus.
Nobody should ever say that again.
The only way you could use the word nourishment in a less inspiring context would be trying get your wife in the mood.
Hearing such bs as a player you'd feel less inclined to go to war and be vulnerable to injury from the severe cringing and eye-rolling.

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
Well we accept the language term "computer virus" and that an inanimate gadget is a mouse. So how about: forwards starved of opportunity, opposition forwards feast on defensive errors, opposition's gluttony of possession, opposition mids dine out on our ineptitude, small forwards miss crumbs, Reiwoldt J got silver service, Hannebery underdone, Hill cooked, dumb butler, Long too salty, King dropped it like a hot potato, Carlisle stale, use by date (multiple choice), Lonie over cooked it, stiff cheese (all our many set shot points); all you can eat (Ess/Melb/Rich/Port).... so perhaps the criticism of Brett's modern terminology is a little unfair, there is precedent and the communications coach stressed: don't say the forwards are f'..ing hopeless and play like drunken sailors on pay night, count to ten and find a nice metaphor, one easy to swallow.

Nice collection, thanks for that. Even so, scoreboard nourishment is a bridge too far, even for a ‘woke’ individual such as myself.Yorkeys wrote: ↑Tue 27 Apr 2021 1:32pm Well we accept the language term "computer virus" and that an inanimate gadget is a mouse. If he starts saying ‘strongly’, we’ll know he’s a Richobot. Strategy wise he’s ticking the boxes.

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
We won't drop Hill, I'm backing him in-
Sounds suspiciously like the stubborn favouritism lavished on Newnes n Weller.
Our club is doing what it does best, now.
Having a surprise win, and celebrating that for the rest of the year, ignoring the 14 goal losses that follow.
Apart from Thommo's years, and some of Ross Lyin's tenure

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
"Scoreboard Nourishment" sounds like tripe Scomo would come up with to deflect attention away. I think it means that the forward half need to pull their finger out.

Well, our losses to the Injectors and the Tigers were unpalatable

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
"Scoreboard nourishment" is now officially added to the lexicon of AFL "bulls*** bingo." Think hamstring awareness, he's two weeks away, etc..

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
To be fair, Hill has more runs on the board than the blokes you mentioned - although Newnsie is definitely a good player, very good on his day.MickThomas wrote: ↑Thu 29 Apr 2021 8:36pm We won't drop Hill, I'm backing him in-

If Hill isn't performing I think it is more likely to do with something which is not happening with regards to other players execution and the way he is being used within the game plan.

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
Noise of affirmation relates to umpires giving home interstate crowds more free kicks
Which happens.
