Votes v Power
5. Rowan Marshall . Wholehearted 4 quarter performance
4. Jack Steele. Always works hard,
3. Seb Ross. Good especially early.
2. Jahrome Hughes of Melbourne Storm. 4 try assists in the first 30 minutes
1. Number 29 in my youngest nephew’s under 16 footy team today. Good skills in the midfield , and a couple of nice goals.
Sainter Dad - on reflection I will give 1 vote to Dougal Howard. He beat his man on the night, which was a rarity for our players.

I thought Sinclair played his best game for the season -- definitely deserved votes.

5. Nathan Freeman. Lighting up the VFL.
Let's recruiit him in the mid-season draft, nurse him for another three years, and delist him as soon as he plays a game.

Re: Votes v Power
Have you seriously got Nick Coffield 13p 1t in the votes ahead of Seb Ross 31d 8t - I mean really? Vendetta??
Marshall was good, but probably beaten by Lycette
Steel was pretty good
Sinclair was handy after HT
Howard was ok, but beaten by Dixon and zones off too much
Crouch put his body on the line a bit
Clark was good in the contest, but woeful chasing
Though Seb stood up in the midfield, at qtr time him and Jonas were best on, then Amon went berserk.

Howard at one point let DIxon waltz up to the wing and lumber along like Lurch, to have a score involvement, and Howard was nowhere to be seen
Crouch wore one huge hit late in the game, if 21 other guys had his courage we might have lost by less
Seb seems to stand out in most of our poor performances, like when he polls well in the Trevor Barker Medal in our poor years.
it's not so much he plays well, its just that the rest of the team plays so badly, it makes him look good.
Like tonight, when 7 of our guys had zero tackles, and 6 had just one tackle
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Votes v Power
5. Marshall - tried hard, class player
4. DMac - not perfect, but played with spirit and intent lacking from most of the team
3. Howard - poor bloody backline under continual pressure due to sh*t midfield and lack of defensive strategy from the coach
2. Sinclair- Did a few nice things when he eventually got the ball
1. Steele/ Ross- got a bit of the ball but didn't contribute much
Hard to give votes to midfielders who are getting flogged every week.

Re: Votes v Power
Good summary, I liked Sinclair in the middle after half time. He added some quality & poise.spert wrote: ↑Mon 26 Apr 2021 8:38am 5. Marshall - tried hard, class player

5 Ross
4 Marshall
3 Steele
2 McKenzie
1 Membrey
We were outclassed by a better team. The scoreboard wasn’t indicative of our effort early on
I thought if we were more efficient in that first quarter, things might have been different.
Coff was good, Clark tried all day as did Battle and Sincs and Wilkie and Howard.

Re: Votes v Power
How the hell did Seb Ross win the Sainter of the round!
He’s in our bottom 6 players and the reason we are poor, regardless of what he does?!
Even though Marshall was probably beaten by Lycett - surely he was better??!!

Re: Votes v Power
I don't know B.M., I guess it must have been for his tackling, surely not the quality of his possessions, some quite cheap.
No one said he's in our bottom 6 players. I have said the quicker he is in our bottom 6, the better we will be.
I do believe Marshall beat Lycett, certainly beat him with his work around the ground and shaded in the ruck.
How did Ports mids go against ours? Did Steele, Ross, Crouch, Jones come out on top? No wonder our defence was under siege and our forwards with little to no hope.

Re: Votes v Power
Inside Mids almost broke even in contested ball and clearances
Wines played well, good player
Ross played well - especially first quarter
Steele was good
Jones - OK first qtr, poor second qtr moved to HB after HT
Sinclair - OK when he moved inside
