I’m sure Ratts will let them know the first half wasn’t very pleasing...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
well this is probably the best we can do, Port are far superior in talent and endeavour yet we beat them last time.....makes you wonder doesnt it.
When Port has possession we become witches hats and think Port will be in the GF.
We will be back to the drawing board. Butler is nothing now.....??
And I loved Long's 50 against him....he showed some aggression..sadly lacking in the rest of the side. Marshall remains classy.
Oh well at least it is taking a little bit longer to look away.

Face facts this list isn’t good enough
I said a while ago we aren’t ruthless enough - you have an opportunity to be bold that means trade out done players whose best is not going to get you there while they have some currency and build back into the draft
This list is not flag material its 11-16 level
We do have some talent build off the core
Marshall
King
Clarke
Coffield
Howard
Steele
Paton
Rest are tradeable

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
Exactly. Covid-19 also skewed the true level to which most clubs were at in 2020. More of a level playing field in 2021 and we've been found out.shanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 25 Apr 2021 8:38pmWe weren’t that good.
Lucky to make finals
Nice draw
A good streak up to round 11
Watching this is almost as painful as seeing Petracca blitz last night. Will be even more painful watching him win a Brownlow at some point. Our club's performance on the field is a reflection of our insipid administration and our substandard, incomprehensible recruiting. It started with McEvoy for me. That one was a bad, illogical decision and they've made several since then.

So it’s a delivery issue??
I think it’s a system issue
The fwds go to high and congest and lose structure forward of the ball. It’s obvious.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
I'm so over this, can't score, can't hit targets, just a bunch losers playing for the biggest loser club in the competition. 1 Premiership in a 120+ years says it all. I wouldn't be getting excited about Ben King coming to play here, more likely Max will go to Gold Coast the way were going. The whole club reeks of failure from the top down. I have been a member for 50 years, I will get my membership again next year, but I wont be going to many games. With exception of a few players there is no heart out there, just a bunch of guys running around earning a lot of money they're not worth. The only club worse than us in this comp right now is North, but right now, that's not by that much.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

If Ratten keeps backing in players that are either out of form or simply not up to it, then this is what you get.
Players like McKenzie, Long, Lonie, Joyce, Hill and Ross
Our coach needs to grow some f****** balls!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
As soon as they win the ball we are getting smashed on the spread
Unless they make a skill error they are just running rampant through the middle
Backline is trying but in reality doesn't stand a chance that said they have only had 11 shots on goal

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
Club should relocate to Noosa.
It worked for them last year.
Butler can surf every morning with 2-3 team-mates, it's what helped him last year.
Get them all away from distractions like family, kids, etc so they can focus.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

11 shots at goal to 7 ...... seems more like 21 to 7

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
Once again getting torched at the clearances. Some hideous efforts by King and Hill allowing players to run past them into space. Crouch non existent. Jones started well and disappeared. Carlisle .....pfft. Steele, Marshall, Ross, and Howard have been good. Clark okay, Long terrible.
Some major issues around the stoppages. No synergy between our mids. It's like they're all putting in individual efforts but don't understand how to work as a unit. Crouch, apart from one game has been a non- entity.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
Some positive:
Carlisle taking Allir out of the game.
Howard winning one on ones
1st Qtr inside 50s dominated
Marshall dominating Lycett
The way back into this game is fast ball movement.

Ofcourse it’s a system issue you don’t need to be a guru to see our system particularly going forward is haphazard
It’s also an execution issue - supposed quality player 35 out direct in front ???? When your side really need you
Not good enough

Re: Match Thread Saints v Power Round 6 2021
No confidence, poor skills and little ability to play as a team. Last year we could play as a team and had confidence.
