That’s months isn’t it, for an injury like that?

Carlisle’s going to be earning his keep this year. I’d also like to see more of Hunter. Wonder if Paul can get to an elite level of fitness?

I don’t know. It’s the Banger Harvey injury that he eventually fixed by jumping from the kitchen table. Let’s hope it’s only short term.

Yeah. I remember that. Painful until fully ruptured.

Dr Google to the rescue

“ In a more recent study, Saxena and Fullem reviewed 18 subjects (including six elite athletes) who had suffered plantar fascia ruptures(13). All were managed with a 2-3 week period of non-weight bearing in a cast/boot, followed by 2-3 weeks progressive weight-bearing with physiotherapy intervention. All 18 returned to their chosen sports without complications. The mean return time was 9.1 weeks albeit with a fair degree of variability.”

Clinically, it makes sense to work on strengthening the small foot intrinsics such as the flexor digitorum brevis, flexor hallucis brevis, lumbricals and plantar interossei in the event of a plantar fascia rupture, as they will help give the arch some active support (in the presence of diminished support from an attenuated plantar fascia). This type of intrinsic strengthening can be performed with simple arch strengthening exercises such as towel scrunch exercises and the cup-drop exercise ”

Jabbing it may have contributed as a possible cause of the rupture

Not that bad.

I heard Lethers interviewed at half time. He said it bothered him all summer and finally snapped. They gave him a shot and sent him out. Not an issue although Jon Ralph saying in doubt for Thursday.

Damn. Goes to show how courageous he was playing out the game. Hopefully he is not out for too long. We must be due a change of luck on the injury front...

No, that only works with a virus.

Wasn't this the problem that Rob Harvey had that he "fixed" by jumping off a table, to actually cause it to rupture. For some reason (that I can't remember) it was better for it to be ruptured than to stay as it was.
I haven't explained that very well but does anybody remember the event that I'm thinking of ???

Yeah I thought rupturing it is what you want, rather than it just hanging around.

Nope, I did read the whole thread - just missed the direct mention of Banger. Doh.

I suffered from plantar fasciitis for several years while in peak running condition, tried everything including cortisone injections without luck. Didn't stop me running with special orthotic inner soles, then one morning when running barefoot on a hard beach I actually felt the thing snap, like Robert Harvey's experience, and fixed the problem for good.

Not sure what exactly Rowan Marshall's diagnosis is, suspect it could be an actual tear which is far more serious.

Ratten said post game he’s fine
If he’s already snapped it I was under the impression from Harvs time that there was little additional damage that could be done??
Jab play
Bring Ryder in also ....
Tigers haven’t lost multiple consecutive games in a while....we will need to throw the kitchen sink at this
Lonie stays in IF Ryder and Marshall play as that will bring smalls into the game if they both don’t he goes out
May be better adding another mid

I think King is brilliant with the loose ground ball. Max's pressure and tackling were good.

King is also quick, so even though he's 6' 10" he showed he can 'play like a small', so Lonie goes out for mine

Butler and Billings showed good form and were brilliant with crumbing goals

Add Snags and add the agile and fast King and there's no room for Lonie imo
