Well done Mckenzie and Webster
A couple of forgotten players shined tonight! Mckenzies spirit and endeavour lifted us and won many contests. Webster was rock solid tough and sensible. Great to see!
Re: Well done Mckenzie and Webster
Totally agree. All we want is effort & they brought it when the team was in trouble. I prefer players that stand up when the team is struggling. They're the ones who will do well when we travel & in finals.

Good post, deserves own thread.
A great comeback from a couple of blokes I thought were gone.
Quick and tough and long kicks

Even the goal kicked was from a rubbish free. Clear push in the back

I'll add this as well DMac showed poise, precision and skill with some of his kicking in the 3rd quarter as well. It wasn't all just graft the kid created opportunities.Saint_Singapore wrote: ↑Sat 10 Apr 2021 8:32pm A couple of forgotten players shined tonight! This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Re: Well done Mckenzie and Webster
That effort from McKenzie when he ran down McGovern and laid a perfect tackle might have been one of the sparks that we needed to believe we could win. Loved his endeavour today and his kicking has improved out of sight
I reckon Ratts has helped with clear instructions and he gives Dan a role which he’s good at.
McKenzie’s fitness and his focus to earn a spot back in the seniors is a blessing for the team and I think it provides Ratten and the coaches more options as we discover who is willing to stand up for the St Kilda FC

Re: Well done Mckenzie and Webster
Saw the last 40 minutes of the game. McKenzie is more balanced when he is kicking now. Someone has been doing some work with him by he look of it. I've always liked Webster. Brave and hard working. Glad he's getting the opportunity to play again

Re: Well done Mckenzie and Webster
Dan McKenzie was massive in yesterday's game; the club was ridiculed when it offered him the most recent 3 year extension but it was vindicated on what we saw yesterday. His confidence is now back and he is playing with a lot more poise and maturity......well done DMAC!

Re: Well done Mckenzie and Webster
Webster and McKenzie are brilliant for their courage and application, but I've come to accept the commentary that they are butchers with the ball.
So you always notice it when they are.
So I noticed it several times yesterday -- shocking kicks / passes at crucial times. Confirmed liabilities.
Then I looked at the stats:
Disposal efficiency:
McKenzie 85.7%
Webster 85%
Your mind , your prejudices, play tricks on what you see.
Even Zac Jones got 88.5% Disp Eff.
