Maybe we should have got Langdon at half the price or Phillips or both?

Re: Brad Hill
He won Freo's B&F when they finished 14th in 2017. Career-best stats in 2019 when they finished 13th. s*** cake but Hill still performed.
He just doesn't seem to care at the moment. I reluctantly gave him a pass for last year considering the unusual circumstances but he has been absolutely terrible again this season.

Re: Brad Hill
We recruited Hill for all the right reasons we needed some out side run with silky skills but pretty much sold the farm to get him . Unfortunately we don't have a star studded team that allows him to play the way Brad does . In a good team he is very capable but he struggles in a mediocre team. His run & carry is wasted at St.Kilda because we don't have the skill level to or a game structure that works for him. Yes is as soft as butter & yes he over paid but it's not all his fault either IMO

Re: Brad Hill
So is that complacency because he is on a big wage for along time or is he like all of us is getting older & just can't do what he could once do?

Re: Brad Hill
He played a great game against Hawthorn.
I was front row up against the fence and it was a home game for us
I think that was his best game for the Saints and he hasn’t been able to replicate that standard
Pity it didn’t count because it was a practice match at Moorabbin last year before Home and away

Re: Brad Hill
Brad Hill would be instructed to where to be and where to run. While we have bloke like Ross Crouch and Jones not winning ball on the inside he is basically cut out of the game.

Re: Brad Hill
Whatever Hill had, he left most of it behind on the way to Moorabbin. I'm a bit sick of listening to excuses for some players who are basically not working hard enough when you know they have more to give.

Re: Brad Hill
very much suited to the wide wings of Optus Stadium.
If there was ever a downhill skiier Hill would be the model. When things are going well he is good. When you dont need to be accountable and take the 3-4 best match up the world is your oyster.
Against quality opposition or a quality opponent and without wide open spaces of a 'rounder' football field Hill is being found out as a one dimensional ordinary player.
We would be lucky to be able to trade him away for 4th rounder and be lumped with half (or more) his salary.

Re: Brad Hill
Wasn’t he pretty much our best player against Carlton in the March preseason game? Papers were gushing about his performance.
So something between the ears has happened, not only to him, but to the group as a whole.

Re: Brad Hill
Hill got plenty of it against Melbourne, and absolutely butchered it repeatedly. No one else to blame in the situation.
Every player has to go when it’s their turn to put their head over the ball, that should be a non-negotiable, no matter what a few of the casuals say.

He ran and presented all game though it wasn't as if he wasn't trying.

Re: Brad Hill
I watched Hill sprint from one wing to the other only for Coffield to burn him and kick it into a Essendon playerCURLY wrote: ↑Tue 06 Apr 2021 2:34pmThe_Dud wrote: ↑Tue 06 Apr 2021 1:59pm Hill got plenty of it against Melbourne, and absolutely butchered it repeatedly. Re: Brad Hill
if you are talking about Hawthorns threepeate that started back in 2013 then you could argue all Hawks players in that era were "pretty" goodCURLY wrote: ↑Tue 06 Apr 2021 11:57amPlayed well in Grand Finals so hardly a downhill skier.repta wrote: ↑Tue 06 Apr 2021 11:27am very much suited to the wide wings of Optus Stadium.

& on a quick look he didnt bother the statistician much
Personally I think after three GF medallions he went looking for the cash
as fans we got excited by his 500+ disposals in his last year at the Dockers
& as club we paid for that handsomely

Re: Brad Hill
Not good. Brad needs to feel confident. We can't afford to have him playing poorly. If he is not going to be dropped, as the coach has said, we should lay off and just encourage him. He knows missing targets is bad. Go Brad keep at it, the class will return. Might be a point of no return for his self esteem if he was dropped. However if we had an obvious class winger just waiting for a chance.....

Re: Brad Hill
Forget whatever show he's on, ask him if he's worth his alleged salary. If the answer is no then let him haggle to what is reasonable for his output. I doubt we'll see an answer.
