Nah. Something in me is just blank after this. Last straw et al. So much build up, so much potential....and this. St.KFC can go get f*****.SAINT-LEE wrote: ↑Sat 03 Apr 2021 6:58pm Peeps like.....worst season worst game ever.
Memories sloshing around of losses....
Remember....
1919 loss to South Melbourne by 171 pts
Or
Richmond smacking us by 152 pts in 1980
Or
Hawthorn flogging us by 145 pts in 2014?
I've just touched the highlights trust me....when it comes to get defiled we hold the record....
So settle please

Smacks of Richo era football, but we can turn it around. Either we learn from this start and use it as fuel for the season or we just give up, and I don’t think this is a team that gives up.

Re: Round 3 Game thread
Can someone offer any kind of explanation of what has happened since finals last year ?
Maybe Marshall is our most important player and Ryder number 2?
But what has happened to Coffield, Clark? Jones? Butler?

Commentators like Dunstall said lack of effort. (But that could be media dribble)
Tell me fellow Sainters, did you really see a lack of effort?
They still seemed to be having a crack for the bits I could face watching.

There is something seriously wrong the players were playing completely reactive and are appeared confused. There is no way Essendon are a 70 point better team.

Re: Round 3 Game thread
10 tackles to halftime. Absolutely trounced in the centre clearances. Refusal to guard a man or space and just let them go wherever they wanted. And lots of easy marks taken in their forward 50 which is pretty uncharacteristic of usshanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sat 03 Apr 2021 7:28pm Commentators like Dunstall said lack of effort. Some pretty good indicators of a lack of effort. It’s not like we played Richmond here, we played a widely regarded bottom 8 team.

Dean Kent - Not one of my favourites , but surely gets a game
Webster back for Long.
Marshall if he can raise a jog gets a game. Apparently that’s the required speed for most of our team.

Re: Round 3 Game thread
Coffield renamed Coffup.
Kicks short passes to opponents.
Handpasses to opponents.
Grabs bigger opponents than himself around the waste giving away easy free kicks in front of goal.
Panic, panic, panic.
A useful half back flanker who can intercept mark and kick long.
Nothing else or he is liability.
Definitely not up to taking on an opposition tall or marking forward.

I was a tthe game and it is worse than you think. Putrid, absolute putrid performance. Even bombers fans were trying to make us feel better. Very few out there can leave the groudn with their head held high

If I catch covid I will quickly spread it all over Melbourne.
See if I can shut the competition down.

Re: Round 3 Game thread
It goes to show that when you give kids a chance to play that are hungry to perform and hungry to retain their spot in the team that you’ll get 100% effort. Essendon still have some serious talent in their midfield.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sat 03 Apr 2021 7:33pm There is something seriously wrong the players were playing completely reactive and are appeared confused. Too many passengers last week for us and too many guys who get a game when they haven’t earnt it. We had so many players down on confidence last week and guys like Highmore and Paul Hunter weren’t the worst in my opinion.
Battle and Sinclair are struggling to find a regular position to claim is theirs. Wood and McKenzie might be good contributors if they are given 4 or 5 games in a row, but I fear they’ll be first out of the team when changes are made
Lonie and Higgins should not have played today. I heard Jake Stringer say he’s lost 7 kg. The Druggies made sure he earnt his spot. That's what needs to happen with Higgo. Snags needs to get fitter and lose weight. Lonie should be dropped and only get a spot if he plays consistently well in the seconds and if if he stops kicking high loopy slow 30 metre kicks that are VFL standard

Re: Round 3 Game thread
King kicking for goal.
I thought the idea was to watch the ball onto your boot.
He never even lowers his head or looks down.
Only looks straight ahead at his target.
It is pure hit or miss.
It takes a heap of effort to get the ball to him and he can't even be bothered to watch the ball onto his boot.

Butler, Battle, Lonie, Sinclair, McKenzie, Hill, Crouch, Wood and Long.....come on, mirrors out boys!
Re: Round 3 Game thread
Pathetic and shambolic. The players have no respect for the coach if they are not listening to him. I presume he did give them a message at quarter time, and certainly at half time, as it's too late for messages at three quarter time when you're that far behind. There clearly wasn't a Plan B but at least he could have inspired them to put in some sort of effort. If they don't put in a blinder and win next week he might as well get another job. I guess I won't have to book flights and hotels for the finals this year.

Re: Round 3 Game thread
I agree 10 tackles in a half is unacceptable, but also telling and indicative of a selfish attitude is only ONE shepherd for the entire game. Disgraceful effort from a bunch of over-paid front runners.bigred wrote: ↑Sat 03 Apr 2021 6:56pm There is no defending this .
Insipid performance from a bunch of front running big heads.
We cannot carry three small forwards if they cannot be accountable.
Hill needs to be dropped. As simple as that.
Zac Jones' kicking is a liability.
Our defensive effort is completely gone. It was a strength last year. Looks like we slurped on our bathwater over summer. We look unfit. Unable to make a contest or at least unwilling.
You should be offended by this loss. Absolutely disgraceful performance and there are no excuses for it.
Essendon walked us. Completely and totally walked us. No system, no forward structure. Disposal not up to AFL standard. No urgency. No effort.
Ten tackles in a half is completely unacceptable. They were LAUGHING at us at half time. The Essendon coaches box was LAUGHING.
Every single player that took the field today needs to be on notice. Each one, to a man were repeatedly found out for lack of effort. Even #9 at times.
The softies on this forum will defend the players as usual. Blah Blah Blah. Defend the coach. Blah Blah Blah.
This is weak as piss. Absolutely unforgiveable.
We wont play finals this year.
