I don't know if you drop Hill, but I think Higgins out for Crouch.
The small forward brigade doesn't work too well when you have May, Lever and Gawn down back marking everything or knocking it to their advantage.

Re: Changes for next week
All that high priced recruiting the last couple of years and we are still crap, still St Kilda-esque.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

I wouldn’t drop Hill...as much as I bagged him. He’s way better than some. He kicked piss poorly. But he did present and link- or attempt to-,
Don’t drop Hill.
Don’t drop Hill.
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Long kept kicking to Melbourne and gives away too many frees. Not up to it.

Re: Changes for next week
Carlisle, Crouch and Wood could not be worse than Lonie, McKernan and the injured Webster.
Then we have a wait for Ryder and Marshal and a replacement for that idiot Long

Ridiculous not playing Carlisle. Dougie played well but needed Carlisle there tonight.

Re: Changes for next week
Hopefully Marshall comes up?
Outs: McKernan, Webster & Lonie or Higgins
Bring in: Crouch, Marshall and Woods.
Far to often we had no marking options forward of the ball.
Ratten throws Battle all over the place and he struggles to have an impact forward.
Bring in Woods who is another taller runner, marking player and goal scorer.
Jones to play HBF in Websters position.
If Marshall isnt ready we have to try someone else other than McKernan forward eg Carlisle, Clavarino anyone.
We have had some luck with Draper, Sheils and Caldwell going down injured, so the Bombers will be far from full strength also.

Re: Changes for next week
Carlisle has to come in .... likely for Webster if he doesnt come up ..... if he does then Highmore out for Jake
Crouch in for one of Lonie Higgo or Butler
Will be great if Ryder comes back if so then Hunter out - Draper was injured so might not play - unfortunately we have no back up so if Ryder is still out then we are still forced to go with Hunter & McKernan

Re: Changes for next week
What message does it send to the team to keep picking Hill?
Not only did he become one of the Demons most valuable link up players, but I have never NEVER seen such patently obvious lack of courage.

Re: Changes for next week
We can't have 3 small forward having no impact on the game we clearly need to reassess our game plan because IMO we don't have plan B when s*** hits the fan

Re: Changes for next week
Agreed but Ratts makes excuses for him. Having said that he wasnt the only player falling off tackles tonight the majority were pitiful. Plus we dont have too many wingmen knocking the door down to take his place!

Re: Changes for next week
Highmore might have been injured anyway. Either that, or he was benched, since his TOG wound up on 70%. He was barely sighted, if at all, in the last.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

Re: Changes for next week
We played a tough game, on the road, in the rain with a short break.
It was a 50/50 we would pull up fine..or show up sluggish.
The whole team was average, last weeks hero Membrey was average, in general the team looked half a pace mentally & physically off the ball.
We aren't rubbish and the season will be what it was always going to be...up&down with us just scrapping into the 8.
The problem is too many fantasy lovers think one decent season makes a GF legacy team.
We need at least 1 -2 more years of development plus another:
KP Defender, Ruck, Inside & outside mid, Forward.
Membrey is not the KPP we MUST have in the Forward line to support King. Membrey is good and valuable but his whole career is one or two good games followed by 2-3 quiet ones.
Hill will never be the recruit we need until we get a mid who can shovel the ball out to him. Hill doesn't defend, Hill doesn't get his hands dirty with tackles, down and under or 1%'s. He doesn't crash through packs or twist out of tackles... he IS prolific at receiving a ball, seeing space, accelerating like mad and accurate disposal to advantage ( except tonight lol).
We need to see players strengths and provide support for them to perform.
I wouldn't change much but Bytel should've played and stay in the game. We need a mid bull so whoever has to come in...where's the 2012 David Armitage or 2016 Jack Stevens when ya need him....avg 6 clearances 6 tackles...we 2 of these types busting packs. Bytel will be one, he needs games. Kent can be a bull but doesn't play it enough.
We really need our rucks on the field & healthy. We lost in the midfield today.

Re: Changes for next week
If Hunter is significantly better than Alibakis then why would Sam be even contracted; surely Sam would have done some things to try to stop the free run Gawn was gifted. To further prove my lack of footy nous, do not comprehend why DMac cannot get into that side. Seem to be several he could easily replace and side would be better for it. Bytel starting is a no brainer (isnt it?). Hill was shocking but seems a protected species. I expect him to drop himself. Did Lonie play?

I don’t know how he’s played in the 2nds but Clavarino has to get a game surely !??

Re: Changes for next week
To be fair to whoever that is- I'm pretty sure he didn't say " kick it 15 metres over the head of your leading forward" or *grubber kick half your entries, and on the other half hit Lever chest out"......
Our best disposers were the biggest offenders tonight.
Hill and Coffield and Sinclair all butchered the ball horribly.
Tough to coach around that
