GWS just shove our defenders in the back to get space behind them.

Wet weather football. Look at the tigers and previously the hawks. They just move the ball forward at all costs

Well to be fair, Umpire Eleni doesn’t seem to have improved her positioning over the off season and we seem to be getting the short end of her inability to see what’s going on

Is she the one that got an Order of Australia after umpiring 30 odd games?
I hear they have the Nobel Peace Prize ready for when she breaks the tonne.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 1 2021
For those unable to watch Steele had a great first quarter -- 10 pos I think -- Higgins and Long looked lively. We seem ineffective in the ruck but that's to be expected.
Hopefully we show some more in the second quarter.

Taking our time to settle but yeah I will bite Dud
8-2 free kicks against with several obvious in the backs missed that should have been paid to us

Free kicks 8 GWS to 2 Saints, they are generally first to the ball.
Our lack of a contest when chopping it out of defence is telling.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 1 2021
We need to do a bit better with the kick into our forward line... too many bomb and hopes. Need to look for some shorter options.
Poor umpiring I agree.
Liked Clark so far. Steele’s been busy. Hunter has been good in the ruck. Dmac is throwing himself at contests. Membrey has worked very hard to + Lonie and Butler have tried hard with little reward.
Have no idea how ppl criticise Long so much. Easily top 22. Not only attacks the contest but tries to win each one and turn it to advantage... whether it’s a tap forward or a bump etc
Is the exact opposite of Webster who to me looks like he does the bare minimum... happy to see the ball go over the line or make one effort and not Shepard after. Very disappointing effort from him IMO so far.

That's what I keep saying: Dud and the serial 'sooks' have a totally symbiotic relationship and should appreciate each other more.
